Trespassers, Poachers Caught On Game Cameras

http://www.deeranddeerhunting....on-game-cameras

Some of the stories were comical. Trespassers looking directly at the camera but not realizing it was there, giving the landowner a perfect view. Trespassers doing, um, personal things. Poachers walking out with a turkey or fish, or walking in with a gun and camo. People breaking into storage sheds, tearing up shooting boxes or destroying property.

Decorum prevents me from using some of the more colorful phrases uttered when describing these folks. Criminal is the legal term, of course. Folks committing these crimes often whine about not hurting anyone, didn’t do nothin’ bad, only caught a few fish or killed a turkey or deer … but the bottom line is they were trespassing, hunting or fishing without permission, and maybe theft or destruction of property. They’re criminals.

I know we use them for catchin both now...lol

It should be legal to trespass as long as you smash a feeder.

Go to archerytalk.com and look at the thread where people post pics of trespassers and poachers. It's awesome.

eek

What's your problem with those and the rights of land owners so you can "trespass"?

I don't trespass, but I know tons of people that turkey hunt under feeders which is illegal and they think nothing of it.  Those same people raise hell about trespassers.  Shooting a turkey near a feeder is no worse than trespassing.

If you know "tons" of people that are baiting turkeys , turn them in. Go to the dnr website and report it, you don't have to give your name. I know tons of people that sit around and bitch about people baiting or poaching and never do anything about it. Dont classify everyone that owns land and has a feeder as Turkey baiters..

I gotta tell ya bro. Were a pretty tight group here. The guys that post here frequently are pretty good guys. We do things right for the most part. We welcome anyone with open arms that comes here with the same mindset. But u blew it with that comment. We all own land or respect the land we dont own that we hunt on. I have several feeders that i use to draw deer off of hunting clubs that surround my land. We feed the deer year around because i have a farm. As soon as the acorns fall the deer that ate all our clover head to a 6000 acre hunting club. If i dont put up feeders im screwed. 45 has his own reason for putting out feed but ill let him tell you why. You will probably feel pretty stupid when he does.

Yes, that's right hunstr. Bein disabled and gettin back into the woods anymore and wantin to go where you know the big boys is not goin to happen for me. The feeders help me have a chance, hopin they might come to me.... I wasn't able to stay more than two whole hours in three weeks in my blind because I couldn't hardly get out of bed, the one morning I felt half way descent, my uncle took me out to my blind and dropped me off and 20 min later a nice 8 point came in and got him with my xbow, called my Uncle on My Radio to come and get me, it was a great day.....

I'm just so grateful I have family, friends, land and a way that has been working out so I can still enjoy the outdoors when I do feel like gettin out....But feeders play a huge role but they don't guarantee anything either...

Thanks for sharing bro.. u and i have had our differences. But i respect u for not giving up. Alot of guys would of probably packed it in. Just because a person hunts this way or a different way doesn't mean we have the right to destroy their property. It would be like me saying "man i hate crossbows, im going over to 45's and cut the string on his" i guess i should cut the guy a break. But his comments went through me like a knife. I guess its because of the lack of respect in my area, by kids for landowners. Seems they have the same attitude as Farva does.

I appreciate that huntstr, I tell you when I woke in the hospital bed and you can't move your legs and you think you may never walk again it makes you have new prespective on many things.....

I choose the freedom to choose especially on your own lands and if it ain't effecting others....Our freedoms shouldn't be taken for granted and we need to remember how precious they really are.

We need to exploit them more not oppress them......

freedom to choose

Someone that would shoot a turkey at a feeder is a lower form of life than a truck follower.

What's the difference in that and shootin at one that's on top of decoy tryin to mate with it?

You're tryin to get the critter close enough to shoot it and make a clean kill, what makes the difference in how you do it?......I never understood that way of thinkin...A trap is a trap...Either you are stalkin them or you have them coming to you, only difference is the technique and the bait used.

What's a "truck follower"?...noidea....biggrin

A truck follower is one that follows the stocking trucks in WV and fishes before the trout have a chance to disperse. The hatchery truck drivers have been known to send a decoy truck out first to lure them away.

That happened in every state as well....One of the lakes in OH they stock trout in that I didn't even realize happen to show up one day I was there just scoutin the place out and the fishermen that was followin it was like dogs at feedin time.....

But just because you follow it and know they're stockin it don't always mean you catch'em...your odds go up but still to catch a few but you still have to put your line in the water and you are still limits to them....
