WVU is really going to have to ante up for baseball. The coach @ KU makes $200K and KU is a middle of the pack baseball program. It will be interesting.

Re: What is GVZ's salary as WVU baseball coach ?
I knew that once the football situation was taken care of that GVZ would be the next to go. I remember seeing what Pat White said about why he didn't play baseball at WVU, and I had also heard that GVZ's family were major contributors to WVU and that is how he got and kept his job. Anyone else hear that last part?

Re: What is GVZ's salary as WVU baseball coach ?
Why do we always have to tear down a departing or fired coach after he is gone. I hold no special place for Van Zandt or his family, but its all just so unnecessary (in my view). I don't know what kind of issues VZ had, but I do know that he worked hard with what he was given to be as successful as he could, regardless of those issues.
Oliver wants a new vision for our Baseball program, so he made a change.
Let's all hope that the Baseball program inproves greatly and we can all start by giving our support to the new Coach , the team, and the baseball program.
I have been guilty as the next guy in not supporting the Baseball program, but now in the shadow of joining the Big 12 and an elite baseball conference, its time we all get behind it.
