Yeah, like the NCAA would turn down some guy from the reigning mythical national championship team.

RE: Ben Mauk denied 6th year

Jones gets his shot in the spring but I wouldn't be surprised if Tony Pike is the starter in the fall. And using his grayshirt/redshirt years.....I think Tony is about a 30 year old sophmore now....a little more weight on a 6'5'' or 6'6'' frame, I believe.

Too bad for Mauk. WF's Jim Grobe sent a letter on Mauk's behalf because all freshman at WF were redshirted en masse that year. The ncaa probbly made the right decision given their current rules but I have to wonder about the lingering effects of former AD Bob Goin's animosity toward the ncaa. He was less than diplomatic in dealing w/ the ncaa over b-ball graduation rates. I would guess that "....go **** yourself...." and "...you guys don't know ****...." aren't diplomatic terms used regularly by college ADs.

Good news: thank God we don't have to face that guy again

Bad news: an up and coming Big East team is weakened for next season

I hate that for him and UC- I really think he should have been given the exception- seems it is given for lesser things.  Good for us though - I didn't relish the thought of facing him another year- the kid is good.

That's awful. I hste going against Cincy... they are so dangerous... also mind you RU hans't beaten them in the last 2 seasons.. He does have the It factor. He's awesome... He's also tought he way he plays through pain. I'd love it if he could make somebody's roster...he would make a good back up.
