Re: Baseball team's hat logo

Seems to be a good many posters on here who basically don't know what they are talking about. Seems to be a good bit of hatred and or jealousy on this board. I do believe people make things up and put on here just so they can be saying something. I wonder how many posters on here actually have played baseball at the collegiate level or even played high school baseball.
Coach Van Zant does offer Freshmen more than $1,000.00 to sign. It depends on how good you are and how well you will fit into the baseball program. There seems to be a good many West Virginia boys on the team. You'll never get all the best players in the state. Not every player in South Carolina goes to Clemson.
I hear there are big plans for some nice improvements to Hawley Field. A lot of work has been done to it just in the past couple of years.
If you want to get the real facts about West Virginia Baseball go ask the players. Don't ask the "knownothings" who post on this board. If Coach Van Zant wants you he will recruit you. From what I've seen he plays by the book, he will not break any rules, and he's honest with you.

Re: Baseball team's hat logo

Besides the hat listed on one of the previous links, is there anywhere else to get a hat like the baseball team wears? I would like one just like the team has. The one listed here is a much wider WV. They used to sell them at the old Fan's Choice in Morgantown, but they closed. I remember back a while that the team was giving them away for people that donated money to the baseball program, but I was a college student then, and that was a lot of beer money to give up.

That's because the good ones become Gamecocks.

RE: Baseball team's hat logo

Many, many college baseball teams wear caps with an old-time logo distinct from the other teams at the college that wear helmets or no cap at all. Only baseball wears a cap as part of its uniform. I love the NY Yankees-style WV logo---it's old school.

All you soccer fans, mind your own business. The WV baseball cap is the best--hands off it. We don't tell you your shorts are too short for men's soccer.

They are sold at the Book Exchange on Evansdale.

Re: Baseball team's hat logo

I am not crazy about the current baseball logo but I appear to be in the minority.

I do know this---Cal Bailey is a helluva baseball coach.   He knows the game.  I'm sure he would not be pursued or really be interested at this stage of his life but the man can flat out coach.     In a lot of ways, his program parallells WVU in terms of facilities, budget, etc.   He has done way more with less than Van Zant has.
