Well... A team might take a flyer on him. It'd be easier for him to get in shape in the NBA than it would be in college and you can't teach height.

If Daniel Orton can get drafted in the 1st round......... then so can Sim....

Orton was/is terrible.

A guy like Sim is pretty maxed out, I think. All he's going to be able to give is what he does now - 10pts, 7-8 rebounds..... can't stay on the court long enough to give more.

I think it really depends on what kind of financial situation he is as well as how much he likes school enough to stay longer.

If his dream is to play in the pros, whether it's NBA, European, etc..., then he might want to pursue it now.  Even if he isn't physically ready.  Getting that paycheck might mean a huge relief for him and his family.

I try not having an issue with a kid that wants to go pro.  While I will state he isn't capable of playing NBA or NFL at his current situation, I usually don't know enough of his background to just simply state great or terrible decision.

In the NBA ...a center who gives you 10 pts and 8 rebounds gets 14 million a year.

See Roy Hibbert.

He's the type of kid that a team will take a flyer on and tuck him away in Europe/D-League while he gets in shape.

As it stands right now, Bhullar can't run up the court and get into posting position until there's probably 12 seconds left on the shot clock in the pro game. But, he will draw interest simply because of his size.

He won't play in the NBA but he will play somewhere. He won't make a lot of money because he won't be capable of playing long at his size.

yea, I meant in college.... that's about all the production you're going to get out of Bhullar in college...

Nah.

I agree with KC on this one, he's already probably pretty much maxed out his production at the college level.

By coming out now, odds are VERY good that some team is going to look at his sheer size, throw him in the "intriguing project" category, take him in the 2nd round and stash him in the D-league with the idea that maybe 3-5 years from now he can be a contributor.

If he'd stayed for another year or two, opinions of him would have just trended downward and he likely wouldn't have been drafted at all.

Re: Sim Bhullar declares for draft

In the end, it paves the way for his brother who is a better overall player. Tanveer isn't as big as Sim, but he has a better all-around game. Moves better as well, but then again, you'd be hard pressed to not find many D1 players who move better than Sim.

If Sim Bhullar is an NBA center then I'm an astronaut.  noidea

That dude couldn't run the floor in an NBA old timers game.

Re: Sim Bhullar declares for draft

Just imagine if he could somehow develop into a player. The size is insane and big bodies like that can find a home in the NBA even if it is on the end of a bench.
