A lot have stopped watching

A lot have stopped watching

This season was painful from the start to watch.  Low basketball IQ.  Terrible shooting.  Lazy defense.

Have you stopped watching or will you watch the bitter end?
The Vikings tell a tale about two wolves who wish to eat the Sun and Moon. When either are caught, there is an eclipse. When this happens, the people on Earth rush to rescue the Sun or Moon by making as much noise as they can in hopes of scaring off the wolves.

Why would I stop watching a team I've followed since 1956? Certainly NOT for the reasons you've listed! I'm here always bitter or sweet.

Mountaineers actually depress me. I'm not watching any college basketball.

I enjoy college basketball. Nothing would make me stop watching. As a viewer, one great win or upset is worth 20 losses.

I haven't stopped following, but I'll admit my interest level actually waned significantly early in the year after the loss to Duquesne - currently alone in last place in the 16 team Atlantic 10 with an 8-19 record (1-12 in the league)......

It's amazing what kind of time frees up when you don't spend it following WVU basketball after January.

Forgot what it was like.

I'm still watching, but I'll turn it off or change the channel if we are down 20 at home in the 2nd half.

I'm more intrigued, honestly, by football's spring developments and Major League Baseball.

It's the knowledge that this season is done that creates the desire to ignore it.

I still watch, but the level of passion and care is significantly reduced. I would rather watch Millard and Childress in skeleton drills.

Re: A lot have stopped watching

I am a WVU born and bred fan.
I will NEVER stop watching my Mountaineers compete (Basketball or Football) whenever I get the chance.
I will NEVER stop watching any game whether it is a nail-biter or a blow-out (win or loss).

I may scare my wife or dog by screaming at the TV "WTF is wrong with them" and wonder what the coaches are thinking or why the players seem to make the same mistakes but I never stop watching.

I really try to be nonjudgmental in my life, but it is difficult for me to believe anyone who would stop watching is really a WVU Mountaineer fan.

Some ask the question "Why?"
I prefer to ask, "Why not?"

Re: A lot have stopped watching

I'm one of the idiots who keeps watching. Being a sports fan is kind of funny. If a woman let us down and broke our hearts as much as our sports teams do all of our friends and family would encourage us to end the relationship and find someone new. If we find new favorite teams to cheer for we are ridiculed for being fair weather or a bandwagon fan.

I honestly just want the season to end because as long as they are playing I will watch them, and watching them has been tough this year.

Re: A lot have stopped watching

I will always watch but I have seriously had it with some of the players on this team. Some of them have no basketball IQ, and they consistently do the same dumb things over, and over again. I love college basketball, and it's not necessarily that were losing, it's the effort and the way this team plays this is just so infuriating as a fan. This team is almost unwatchable. However I do not put all the blame on Huggins, I support him as a coach, I dont think this is his best year, but some of these kids just don't deserve to represent this school in my opinion, and they definetley dont deserve to represent Huggs.

I still watch but am now blessed with not being anywhere near WV so only a couple of the games make it into my markey now.  In the future, I may not be so blessed and will want alll the games.
