Tenn 100k fans. Much better job than Louisville. No real comparison. When Tommy Bowden went 12-0 at Tulane, the Green Wave matched Clemson's offer, but Bowden bolted for Clemson, and said it wasnt just about money, but atmosphere, and everything else.
Strong can go to the apex with the SEC, or he can take the easier road in the downtrodden ACC. Depends on how competitive he is. Does he want a shot at bigtime, or a guaranteed 8-9 wins in the ACC?

Strong is going to end up back in the SEC. It's a matter of "when" not "if".

Trickle down effect.
Tenn job opening-until filled-is relevant to wvu. DH wont end up there, but it would be good for us to have strong take the job. There is always the possibility that if Gundy takes the tenn job,
DH could end up on okie state's short list. maybe not-but he coached there.

For what it's worth they are now reporting Strong likely to stay at Lville, but they are quoting a yahoo article. |

if you dont think its relevant dont read it. There is a monster thread on orangepower about the tenn job bc gundy may be going there. Tenn is a marquee program, if they dont get their top choices, they move down the list. While im not "worried" about Dh leaving, ill breathe easier once tenn hires a coach. I could care less about Louisville. I dont bear them any ill will. i hate vt, pitt, ND, and cuse, in that order. WVUMNTR wrote:

. It is a psychological thing. When your down, there always has to be someone lower. Society doesn't function without the lowest tier. The whole "it could be worse thing". Just like people make fun of WV to make themselves feel better. WV'ians make fun of Southern West Virginias, Souther WV'ians make fun of people from Welch, and people from Welch make fun of...well... people from Blacksburgh, ha. See, there, I just did it. |
