Share Your Thoughts and Reflections on Joe

HI all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have heard Joe is not doing well. This is not exactly breaking news, I know.

But out of respect for Joe and his family, we are leaving it at that for now. We will not stake out the hospital or his house. Whatever happens in the next few days — a great bounce-back or the worst — we really don't care about breaking the story.

If and when there is official word on something from the family, we will report it.

In the meantime, if you'd like to offer positive thoughts for Joe and his family, this is the new place to do it.

Thank you,

Mark Brennan

Thanks, Mark.

This entire situation is just so terrible. I'll be praying that he can make it through this.

I can't wait for the day cancer gets cured. No person should have to suffer from this terrible disease.

RE: Joe Paterno Thread

I moved to State College in 1986 because of what Joe Paterno had cultivated in this valley. I am not an alumnus. Truth be told, I pulled for Pitt over Penn State at one time. Joe changed that. I have two adult daughters that have PSU degrees now. I have two more daughters (7 and 5) that I hope will follow their older sisters to and through 'old state'.

My life and home, my job, my family and my friends are all a part of what Joe led me to. Thank you Mr Paterno ... your legacy is all around me.

And on a side note, Mr Brennan, you will never make it to the four=letter with the "morality" that you are displaying.

RE: Joe Paterno Thread

I am saddened by the news. This series of events is so tragic for Joe Paterno. He had to have looked back at all of the recent actions, and felt that those with power were attempting to completely remove his name from the program as if he was Jerry Sandusky. Heartbreaking...thank goodness for the young students who typically aren't the ones to rally around an old coach. I am sure he felt the love from those who meant the most to him.

You've been a blessing to College Football and the USA Joe, and we pray for either complete recovery or the absence of any more pain.

prayers are with Joe Paterno, his family and for all people who are fighting cancer. As some one who have lost four family members to this disease, the day couldn't come quicker that there is a cure for all types of cancer.

The best tribute to Joe that I could think of would be for those researchers in Hershey to be successful in their efforts to cure cancer, and to dedicate the cure in his honor.
