BTN STREAMING IS F'ING CRAP!!!

BTN STREAMING IS F'ING CRAP!!!

I'm trying to watch the PSU - Penn game on the BTN stream, and it's just about impossible.  My system well exceeds the system requirements - I even did the stream test the site recommends, and I have double the download rate needed - and the freakin' stream still pauses every five seconds for 10-15 seconds.  I've missed most of the plays because of this, because it skips ahead in play once it resumes.  I've tried pausing, I've tried refreshing, nothing works.  I've already sent an email to the BTN with my complaints. This is for PSU fans - buyer beware!!!

it's working ok for me now in terms of streaming. i'm not getting any pauses. however, the quality is absolute garbage. it's WAY worse than last year when it was completely free. this bullshit about upgrading their streaming technology and therefore having to charge is ridiculous.

It's gotten a bit better for me in terms of pausing, but it's till BS that I paid for this.

Also, who the hell is Adam Highberger?

i plugged the cable into my laptop (instead of wireless) and it greatly improved the bitrate.

Highberger didn't play last year - he was injured.  He has had season-ending injuries twice now, for one of them he recieved a redshirt.  Deciding to redshirt a walk-on says something about his ability, imo.

The first guy in PA schoolboy history to throw for over 4000 yards in football and score over 2000 in basketball (somebody name Terrelle Pryor was the second).

He played in four games last year before he was injured.

He walked on as a freshman in 2006-07 but DeChellis decided to redshirt him.  Highberger is in a five year program and ED was quoted at the time that Adam would be good enough to help us down the road so ED was going to redshirt him so Adam could play in his fifth year.

In 2007-08, he tore an MCL over the summer and took a medical redshirt.

Last year, he played in four games before he was injured.  He'll get a medical redshirt for last year too which means that he could come back for a sixth year if he wants to petition the NCAA.  Thus he is effectively a sophomore even though he's listed as a RS Junior on the roster.

In retrospect, DeChellis could have played Highberger as a freshman and it wouldn't have made any difference in his eligibility since he was twice injured.

I've liked what I've seen from Highberger in the open practice, the scrimmage, and yesterday's game. I started calling him "New Morrissey."

He reminds me of Nate Althouse.

Lar - is Highberger on ship this year, by any chance? Obviously, we are holding one ship this year and I'm wondering if ED is giving it to Adam for the year (like he did with Leiner).

Don't know.  If he isn't, he should be.
