4 teams at ND this evening: OC, Saugus, Burbank, and ND.  ND and OC did not face each other, with a game ahead on the schedule, so those two split time with Saugus and Burbank.  ND's 1st O & D looked like they're making progress.  Several popping hits from each team.  I think all made it through without injuries.

I didn't get to make it out there tonight. How did Klayman look in and out of the pocket?

Re: Any word on how all of the scrimmages went tonight?

Agoura beat Nordhoff 7-0 in the Half Game. Their 2's and 3's played and I believe it was 2-1 TD's Agoura over Nordhoff with each team having two 10 play drives to score. All in all each teams showed flashes of GOOD and RUSTY play. Holding calls bringing back TD's, receivers no where close to where the pass was intended, and even referee's blowing whistle's too early, but I can respect that one, at least trying to protect the kids in the scrimmage.

Nordhoff could sneak up on teams this year. People expect a down year from Nordhoff, but it looks like Nordhoff is in good hands and will have a winning season.
Agoura played well on defense posting a Shutout, but the offense, I was expecting a better performance. 2 Holding calls, 1 taking away a TD, killing the drive and ending in 0 points for Agoura. It was a good competitive game. Looked like both sides came up healthy and that a good thing! 2014 Season has STARTED!

Did Calabasas scrimmage? How did Simi do?

St. Bonaventure had a scrimmage at home against an incredibly over matched Santa Maria team at every level. No score kept and that was probably a good thing.

Re: Any word on how all of the scrimmages went tonight?

I was able to watch Simi's scrimmage against Kennedy. Simi's defense looked very good. Kennedy didn't get near the end zone all night. Simi's defensive line looks big and quick. I think that the defense had about 4 turnovers. Offense looked well balanced. The short running back is a stud. He was hard to bring down. Pinkston looks and plays the QB role perfectly. This was the first time that I've been able to see the team in person this year. They seem far better than they've been in recent years. I know that Kennedy isn't the best of the best, but they did have a big offensive line, and some solid runners

Re: Any word on how all of the scrimmages went tonight?

It was good to see Simi look pretty solid.  I agree with Johnjohn that Kennedy was not a top tier program, but they did have size and speed.  They were simply overmatched by Simi's skill guys and defensive line play.  One thing that stands out is how many kid's Simi has.  Someone in the stands said that they have over 70 kids on Varsity alone and about 160 kids in the program.  The Pinkston qb is an athlete and looks the part.  The 2nd string qb made some nice throws and ran the offense well.  The running back is named Moore and looks strong.  Runs like the Royal rb, but looks tougher to bring down.  The Simi d-line looked very good.  It seems like they can rotate a bunch of players in and out.  That will help in a long season.  Some posters on the board have already declared Agoura as the favorite of the Canyon league and playoff contender, but I think that Simi is going to have a pretty good shot at it too.  They should be well tested as they play every team in the Camino league in a row right before the start of the Canyon league.

Upland SMOKED Bishop Amat Thursday night, 11 TD's to 2.

U-High shut Amat out until the end of the scrimmage when they moved to goal line and red zone O.

Gonna be a long year for Amat.

From what I heard... definitely true. Not sure why Santa Maria even agreed to a scrimmage like this.

Is Upland that good or Amat that bad?

I knew Upland was going to have a good year this year and could be a dark horse West Valley Division winner

Upland is going to score a lot of points, but needs to work on the run game.
Hard to tell how good the D will be based off the scrimmage. Amat couldn't run, and their tiny QB missed on almost everything, except for passes to the flats.

Amat didn't play a lot of there starters in there scrimmage . Don't know why they would sit out a lot of starters . upland is loaded with all the transfers they got last season and looks like it's going to payoff this year . They will be a contender .

That would explain alot.

Was that a backup QB playing with the 1's?
The Amat D-line did a good job.

Upland and Amat have a great relationship.
I hope Amat does well this season.

Amat and Upland coaches have a good relationship . Both graduates of Amat and Salter is Hagertys coaching mentor . The Qbs split time . D line where starters . That's the part of the game that Amat coaches wanted to get work in . D line are all mostly new players that did not play much as sophs last season .

SM isn't even 'fodder' for Bonnie ...........  just wrong

Any of the top Pac5 league schools along with Da Poke would crush SM by 60+ points ........ just wrong

Factoid # 1 Santa Maria called SB to scrimmage.
Factoid # 2 it was our scheduled Green & Gold day and it fit in well
Factoid # 3 All starters pulled after 10 offensive or 10 defensive plays
Factoid # 4 2s, 3s & 4s played
Factoid # 5 it was a great day with a lot of fans .. Food concessions and apparel were also on sale .. Both teams had fun hitting on other guys besides there own teammates
No injuries for either side .. Time to get ready for Saturday ..

Did anyone see TO? Who'd they scrimmage? Little disappointed in chargers, but coaches needed to see everyone. Nordhoff a good prog.

Re: Any word on how all of the scrimmages went tonight?

Loyola played Redondo. 12 possessions on O for each school.

Loyola 11 TDs one turnover on downs.

Redondo 1 TD. 4 INTs by Myles Bryant of Loyola.

From what Sondy wrote earlier, Drake Beasley Jr and David Cooper ran right over Redondo all day. Easy to run behind an OL that has 3 guys over 275.

I found the phone call that took place. Got the first few responses

Santa Maria: Hey St. Bonnie this is Santa Maria high and we would like to scrimmage
Bonnie: WHO
Santa Maria: Santa Maria High School
Bonnie: WHO? Is this a prank caller
Santa Maria: Haven't you heard of Santa Maria seasoning?? That's us!!
Bonnie: What?

Agoura put up 14 in the half they played, even though one of those was called back. They still shutout nordoff in the 2 Qs they played. Offense needs some work D looked stout.

Would turn those comments around as to why the Seraphs would schedule agree to scrimmage lie this.
How's this get you ready? No offense intended to Santa Maria.
