Narbonne/Nade scrimmage

Narbonne/Nade scrimmage

Lots of work for Nade to do in the next couple weeks.
They didnt wow me for sure but Im pretty critical when it comes to that.

The kid that is standing out to me the most every time I watch Nade is freshman RB TJ Pledger. He has IT.
Had another long 50+ yard run and a few other nice runs. hard to believe this kid is a freshman and was playing against 8th graders last year and now standing out among 17-18 year olds.eek

I would like to answer that but the it just occured to me that Im done with this site. a whole lot of BS from the imposters claiming to rep certain schools who dont contribute a damn thing, no real football talk. Maybe someone else can answer that Nade question.

All I will leave you with  is that RB TJ Pledger is the real deal, he is varsity level right now,
best local freshman RB since Milton Knox.

Nade/Narbonne

There were mistakes by both teams, but the coaches for Narbonne and Chaminade left Thursday's scrimmage feeling confident their respective teams will be very good this season.
"I think we're going to be OK. I think they are, too," Chaminade Coach Ed Croson said.
"I feel like we just played a real game," Narbonne Coach Manuel Douglas said.
Croson liked the play of running backs JT Hill and TJ Pledger.
Douglas liked the play of safety Trevon Bierria and quarterback Roman Ale. The Gauchos also did well on special teams, a problem spot in last season's City championship game.
Chaminade opens it season against Venice next week. Narbonne plays Palos Verdes.

pretty much what Nadefan said.

5+ wins, IMO. Good group of kids and great coaching goes a long way.

I'll have something up later on, but I had a worse night than these two teams.  Lots of mistakes (fumbles, int's, penalties) on both sides, and I muffed a couple of great moves (sorry mr Brock, only got end of nice return, ditto for a Bonne run).  Even Ben K missed a couple FG's, but one was kicked into the face of a brutal sun.  Still, I've only seen him miss a two or three times in his career.

However, a 'Nade coach told me that every kid played, which explains a lot.  Also, new rules made this very un-gamelike.  QB's couldn't scramble, or be tackled.  To prevent injury, many plays were whistled dead before the play was actually over.  Narbonne played 'Nade tough last year too, but did even better this year.  I did hear a Bonne player say, as he was coming off the field, "Those Ni***rs hit hard man"  That, and RB's (Hill, Pledger, Cruz, Lani) impressed.  Lots of work to do before next week.

Re: Narbonne/Nade scrimmage

Delano Howell was a beast at Hart. He was great on screen passes too. Was almost a one-man wrecking crew versus Loyola in '03. We had no answer. If I'm not mistaken Norton (Fresno State), Larrimore (UCLA) and Ciccone (UNLV) were also on that squad. Great team for Hart that year.

Best RBs I ever saw in person at the HS level...

1. Tyler Ebell
2. Herman Ho-Ching
3. Hershel Dennis

That was Dan Howell, his older brother who graduated in 03. Dan went to Washington than the Bengals!
Delano graduated in 2008; and the game he dominated was the 06 game at Loyola I believe. Norton,Ciccone were on that 03 team.. Larrimore was the same year as Delano 08.

Re: Narbonne/Nade scrimmage

Sign of a good program...people mix up the older and younger brothers and their skills!

Who was the stud LB in '03? Pretty sure he wore 42 (maybe 47?), even had the neck roll like Larrimore too. I remember our running game being stuffed all night. But, that turned into Scott Deke's coming out party and Loyola passing more than 10 times a game for the 1st time in generations, which continued the rest of the way through to the title game. .

that was Brian Elledge.. 6'3 220 LB/TE #47 .. he was a beast.. good enough speed, technique hitter and overall smart player with good instincts. He was the leader of Harts defense in 02,03 imo . and went to San Jose State.

I remember that game at COC.. Loyola would go on to win the D1 Championship over LB Poly and Hart would win the D2 Championship over Mission Viejo. Hard hitting classic game

Hart 23 Loyola 16

Hart fumbled and Loyola got a FG, Hart threw a pick that was returned to the 7 and turned into 6 points.. Loyola also turned the ball over on downs inside the 10.

Hart's defense was really very decent in the second half but the 2 turnovers really hurt. The killer plays for Loyola were letting Hart escape on a third and long late in the fourth on the pass to Leigh and then getting to offside calls on third down. I noted that Grady pulled the kid responsible on the second time. LOL - Hartdad .com
