How does Bonny look?

How does Bonny look?

Didn't see a private tag on Sfactor's handle and Goose is absent so I will put this out for everyone. Has anyone seen Bonny this summer? Are they better or worse than last year?

My observations from last year and previous year:

They don't play Westlake well. Even 2 years ago in a victory they should have lost.
Last year varsity was mediocre for them, soph team was a complete joke and the frosh team was as good or better than Westlake's best year.

So with a weak incoming junior group and an outstanding soph group can they compete?

The younger guys are more than capable of carrying this group along with town. They will win league for sure. Westlake #2... Great qb and surrounding cast but Jimmy's crew always lacks character and class. Moorpark #3. Always coached and character and heart go a long way in hs football. Oaks in the cellar....graduated a huge class, new coaches, new qb with zero experience and a generator so slick willy can't turn off the lights

Heard they basically killed everyone at the Rumble at the Ranch, despite not having Alston. Lot of talent, but it's also a pretty young team. Sophomore class is as loaded as any to come through SB. Defense WILL be better. If their D-Line comes along, they could be a real surprise.

I think people will be surprised by this years team. Great QB, great receivers and TE, and return basically their entire O-Line, along with an extremely underrated RB in Chambers. Let me say it like this: If Therrien were still the head coach, I'd consider them a top 10 team in the State and honestly wouldn't be surprised if they had a real deep playoff run. But coaching is too big, and much to important for 90% of high school football. Talent obviously matters, but if all that is equal, coaching is the back breaker. I have no real idea how that aspect will turn out.

Bonnie has had a very good freshman class for years! The difference being in previous years the stud freshmen played up on JVs to compete at the level they should compete at. Last year was the first year it was mandatory that all freshmen play on the freshmen squad.

The offense will be as good if not better than last year's. The defense is still an unknown factor. Lots of holes to fill. Overall depth may be a concern. However, talent is there, so expect them to compete at a high level.

I believe head coaching will be an upgrade from last year. But there's a lot of work to be done with kids learning new terminology and schemes.

Looking forward to seeing more athletes play both sides of the ball.

As far as the passing tournament at the Ranch, while SB did do well, the overall talent at the tournament was subpar.

Many forget that in the 2012 SB vs WL game, coach-T benched Green most of the first half and 2 of the D-Lineman. I think Green had 2/3 carries in the 1st half.

Will be a good game, watch out for Bonny this year and the next couple. Goose couched it correctly above, Coaching the key, Early growing pains predictable.

I see Bonny going 8-2 with their schedule. Probably league champion, or at worst, 2nd place. Guerra will be just fine up in Ventura.

Bonnie with Town, Chamber is enough with their O-Line coming back. But they have a lot of young talent cruising up to Varsity. Stoked to watch them play this year. I think they will win league.

No sure they will win the league and no way does MP beat Oaks, SUL they came in 24 the out of 24 teams. OC, SB and WL will kill them this year. NP should man up and switch leagues with MP.

why because NP has good talent for a year or two? MP is traditionally a stronger public in the area.. Oaks is weak.. I don't care for how Westlake plays.. SB wins league!

Yes, John has it correct, because NP is stronger NOW and next year. Moorpark is down.

Why, cause the association re shuffles every two years. One team drops while the top lower level league team moves up.
Problem was no one apparently realized how down MP may be this year.

Well, the Moorpark AD took it on the chin on this board for trying to get placed out of what now is the Marmonte.  So, I think the AD had voiced his perspective on the relative strength or weakness of MP this season during the league voting process. So, assuming MP gets stronger again over the next couple years, they will be out of the Marmonte.  Makes no sense.

Championship goes through Westlake. JB and open enroll take it again this year. Pac 5 playoffs ? Prob early exit again.

The offense terminology and scheme won't change until Town leaves.

Yeah, really wouldn't make much sense to change that until he's gone.

What's going to be interesting is how they change the offense up for next year, with Vines and Atkins, two dynamic athletes that play or can play QB.

I heard the incoming Freshman team looks really strong also. They beat Rio's freshman pretty good and this is a really good freshman group for Rio.

Yup, the younger Wick brother is going to SB I hear, along with a few other studs. They've cleaned house the last two years at the lower levels.
