This Hart hype is getting ridiculous. Oaks above Westlake and Valencia? No way.

My thought was to keep the list among teams from North LA County and above.
Teams that are generally discussed on this forum. Hey at least I expanded from The Daily News. Dont want to have to answer the question of  why Bonnie isnt on the DN list for the 6th year in a row.confused

ND thrives off being labeled the underdog. We've embraced the fact that everyone considers us "small" and overlooks us constantly. We look forward to a great season in the new, incredibly competitive Mission League.

Go Knights!

ND is not in the Mission League for football.....

Ya think?  This is a COMPLETELY different team than last year.  White, Irwin on offense and Fall on defense are the only major returning contributors.  Everyone else has yet to show who they are at this level. The Pressly kid on the line was a full-time player too.  Other than that we're breaking in all new guys. We scrimmaged Cresenta Valley yesterday.  It was a reality check.  I've only been around for three years but this is the least experienced Hart team heading into a season than I can ever remember.

Give us some time.  We have some young players and by league we'll be solid.

Calpreps has the Mission league as the old Serra league with the addition of Nade and Serra.

Re: Calpreps Early Area Top 10

From what I have seen so far, Hart is going to be very solid, but to have them as #1 with a lot of new players is a stretch.

Some of their hype might be a result of what they have coming up from the lower levels. I have not seen that much talent at the lower levels from any school in a long time.

Coach - Are you saying a bunch of players quit? because you have a lot more returning players then you listed.

How did you get Oaks at # 5? Losing Dawkins and Davis , Riggins , Holmes, coaching changes etc? What QB do they have?  Did they reload?  Westlake is returning both starting sides of the ball  except for 3 players and an integrated undefeated JV team also the best 2016 grad dual threat QB in the nation? enlighten us with the logic , thats all?

Oh Nade. Must not have received the memo. The 7 team league featuring Alemany, Amat, Chaminade, Crespi, Loyola, Notre Dame, and Serra is now called the Mission League. Why would they ever keep the league name as the same name as one of its members??

It is based on Calpreps preseason rankings I believe. I totally agree with you though. I would put Westlake at or near the top personally. They have a lot of experience, studs everywhere, and the most important factor a returning QB.
Oaks will be garbage this year.

Thats what I was explaining to Nadeguy , same thing. The mission is the old serra league with Nade and Serra. You apparently dont know how to post a link because none of those work.

I saw that you knew what you were talking about nadefanweek6. You seem to be the most right-minded of the Nade supporters. I just had to respond to your buddy nadeguy's stubornness for myself.

As for the links, I tried to get fancy with renaming them. And I'm still fairly new to the site.

Depends on whose definition of right minded you use.  Most of the Nadefans are walking, talking and typing turds, but Nadeguy seems to be the most stand up and level headed of the bunch.  A much cooler head than the others.

Really??? Then apparently you don't get around much.....

The 2016 class at Hart when compared to the 2015 & 2014 classes, fall's short. Didn't they get throttled by Valencia Freshman year?? They will be lucky to have 5 of the 22 starters.....

Why you boasting like some fool?

I will say that there seems to be great chemistry with the 2015 & 2016 players.... But save the CLAIMING for the trolls..... Hart has plenty of those so lets deal in reality here SCV Foothill.

Re: Calpreps Early Area Top 10

the sophomores currently that will be juniors went 9-1 at the JV level losing a close game to Santiago by 3 points game 1 (they also played JR's)  Hart destroyed everybody else. They went 9-1 as Frosh destroying everybody but losing to Valencia in a close game until a Hart starter got severely hurt and had to leave by ambulance. the current frosh team that will be sophomores went 10-0 destroying every team they came in contact with.

Looking forward to following Adam Guerra's success at St. Bonny over the next few years. This year should be the catalyst.

Now thats nice to see a non-homer perspective.... Your pretty close ! The top 4 actually nailed it but even the 5, 6.7 ? slots are very close in talent too, more then others but any of these teams could knock off each other any given Friday night. That's an impressive group of teams with some of the best players in the country ....very nice.biggrin

Lets just say that schools that take kids like Rodriguez don't have football teams. SB fans new he wouldn't last at WL. Between his criminal behavior and his eek1 mom it's amazing he made it through last season. He was the whole WL team last year, but a school can only take so much.

I'm not sure why their frosh team from 2 years ago is your focus. I am talking about the most RECENT frosh/JV team from last season which are now transitioning to varsity. If those frosh players on that freshmen team got "throttled" like you say (a 13 point loss) they recovered nicely last season by returning the favor and beating Valencia.

I stand by my statement on the level of talent I saw in their lower ranks. Despite the frosh and JV going 19-1 combined, it wasn't their records or their blowout wins that I'm referring to. The talent they had was very noticeable, if not significant.

Boasting? I call it like I see it and I think you already know that I used to scout in this area many years ago. I met you with Sioussats father (Darin) if you are who I think you are.

Rodriguez had 1 rec for 35 yds and one KR for 52 yds against SB last season so he didn't really factor much for Westlake to beat SB at least in that game he wasn't the whole team as you say,  Many other players had a bigger role to win 31-17 and that game was not even as close as the score was, if you what I mean. You will be much more competitve this year as will Westlake hopefully a closer game, look forward to it!

---------------------------------------------

Anyone familiar with the Westlake program knew they would be stacked this year... Very deep at multiple slots. They have only gotten stronger with a few select transfers.

Questions though...

Does anyone really know what is in the OC cupboard with the sheer volume of plays made by the Dawkins/Davis connection? And it is hard to say that the return of Redell/Matthews/ etc... That coaching changes at OC are a negative. If Theirren had returned to Bonnie, I wouldn't see that as anything but positive and I think the same could be said of Oaks. Oaks of the last two years had talent, but it seemed they faded at the end of games in a way that they did not pre 2012. They may benefit from the lack of star power and attention.

Has the best 2016 dual threat shown he is actually a dual threat? Isham and Moore were rushing in the 1000 yard neighborhood and were nightmares to defend. The current Westlake QB looks more like a traditional pocket passer... One who is getting better all the time... But who am I to argue with the internet if it says dual threat?

I would rate Westlake ahead of Oaks preseason. And might place them above Bonnie based on depth and coaching continuity. But the wizard of Westlake is back at OC and Bonnie is still Bonnie until someone proves otherwise. Should be nail biting for all the Marmonte fans with four teams and 2 playoff slots.
