State bowl games to change in 2015
CIF has announced that in 2015 the venue location will switch each year from north to south and back again. I emailed CIF and suggested they look at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as a possible alternative. Cal Poly's Alex Spanos stadium is newly renovated, has sky boxes, seats over 11,000 and is located half way between the 2 major population areas of the state. Who could knock San Luis Obispo as a great halfway location. Weather is great year round, just a beautiful area for a day or a long weekend of football. Cal Poly has plans to expand to a seating capacity of 25,000. I'm sure getting a contract to host events like this would accelerate the build out. Presently it would appear the Home Depot Center does not fill close to capacity so Cal Poly probably is a nice fit. I think it plays well when kids get to play in a filled stadium. What say ye??? Future look with capacity of 25,000

Cal Poly didn't make a bid to host, I think Sacramento State is going to get them.

Great idea for the CIF to rotate locations. This should have been done at the start...
My only request to the CIF is that they do the same thing in basketball. Currently the State Title games are held in Sacramento.

I don't agree with Poly, as nice as it is. I used to think more toward a central location, however, I now think it better to have it near major population bases, it is more likely to get more attendance, at least one team would not have to travel too awfully far, instead of two teams likely traveling at least several hours and both losing big chunks of fan base to travel.

So us in the middle get screwed every year. Bako, Fresno, Central Coast and everything else in between.
Cal Poly is a nicer facility, no traffic, nicer area ........... need I say more

Nadefan, bite me. You won't even go to a game at Serra, your a fine example. Actually a handful of us up here on the Central Coast gave hard thought to going to the Home Depot Center today. If it had been a nocer day I'm sure some of us would of gone but then again we are real fans of high school ball, not like someone that won't go 40 minutes away ........... simply shameful

Re: State bowl games to change in 2015
Probability says most teams will be from the larger population bases, north or south. Having it near one, likely means much more attendance for the "home" team, instead of only the staunch supporters making long trips to central Cal.. Just makes more sense given the law of probability. I do agree that SLO would be a gorgeous facility and nice place, bottom line is that there would be far fewer at the game.

LBP didn't exactly fill up the Depot last night, actually it looked pretty pathetic in attendance.

I would say the Potato Bowl in Bakersfield, or Fresno State (maybe the Clovis stadium). Both towns are good HS football towns.

So you want to go drive to a sewer pit instead of the beautiful Central Coast

I like the idea of a major population center. This allows for flight options.

SLO would be great.
Does Mammoth have a stadium? We could all go skiing afterwards.

Re: State bowl games to change in 2015
They said during tonight's game that the Basketball games would be moved to So Cal in 2015. Great move by the CIF!...
I think the locations of the football games should be smaller locations and not a big place like the HDC. The big stadiums never fill up and it looks so empty.

Cal Poly stadium is just the right size and still gives that college vib for the kids.

Re: Harder Stadium
No football stadium as UCSB plus it is to close to the LA area to be considered "equal"
