Corona Centennial vs. DLS.

Corona Centennial vs. DLS.

Well gentlemen, the game we have all been waiting for is less than 12 hours away.

Two outstanding teams and will Coach Lad do what he does best?
This guy is just about a genuis as a Coach.
We know he gets solid players but his play-off record etc. is second to none.

Corona Centennial now has a chance to do what LBPoly, Westlake etc. was unable to do. Fascinating scenario and how can you beat these great games?

Enjoy.
It's not whether you win or lose but what you learn as a member of your team that really matters.

48 -17 DLS. QB for CC was a little gimpy after last weeks game and one big lineman # 74 was banged up.With CC QB Not a able to run at full strength could spell blowout?

I'm going to lol when CC beats DLS. I know it's unlikely, but I got a feeling they pull it off.

Re: Corona Centennial vs. DLS.

DLS is almost impossible to beat.
Mentality, talent, quickness, details, and they will not help you with turnovers and poor special teams play.
They destroyed a Folsom team which destroyed everyone they played...until they played DLS.
The DLS defense is second to none...scary how efficient they are.  You have the ball, we will get it back.
Held a Folsom team (whose sophomore QB set a CA state record for TD passes this year) to two TDs.
Men amongst boys.
Can DLS lose?  Possible.
Will DLS lose?  Not likely.
Enjoy the game...Serra is boring me right now, Oakdale is bringing me to tears.

Re: Corona Centennial vs. DLS.

i agree with goose a bit. wouldn't be 100% shocked if CC won, maybe like 85% shocked. CC is big and is no westlake. but then again they aren't servite of 2 years ago either.

who knows with CC. its a mixed bag, but always a real good bag.
i think CC can score 20+ on dela but won't score enough lol.

DLS 48 CC 27

Beat sc

Re: Corona Centennial vs. DLS.

CC's offense is good enough that I think they can pull it off, but it requires their defense playing infinitely better than it has all year, or something like 4 or 5 turnovers at minimum. They've gotten absolutely carved up against most of the elite teams they played this year (Narbonne, VM, SB (loss), Alemany) and I wouldn't be surprised if DLS jumps out all over them early. This CC team is seriously not a good defensive team, and while their offensive tempo has a little to do with it, I could definitely see a scenario where DLS is up like 21-0 8 or 9 minutes in.

Also, people tend to forget that Westlake had 3 or 4 turnovers at least inside DLS's 30 yardline or so. Some of you mongoloids don't like coulda, shoulda, woulda's, but it's not like WL did nothing that whole game. CC can't miss opportunities like those...

so, if DLS coughs it up, CC can't cough it back two plays later.

RE: Corona Centennial vs. DLS.

Comedy of errors on special teams; dropped kick offs, 2 fumbled punts, etc. Centennial looks beat up and tired. I'm sure having to play Upland, VM, and Narbonne all in a row had nothing to do with that... great bowl system we have there. DLS preps to play in this game every year, and given how the Norcal divisions are structured, it's a significantly easier road than the top 3 or 4 divisions in SoCal.

I said it earlier; there are a lot of pretty good SoCal teams, but no real elite ones. 15 or so similar teams that can play with one another on any given night. There was a ton of parity this year.

RE: Corona Centennial vs. DLS.

Same as next year

St Bonnie
Oaks
Alemany
Poly
Bosco
MD
MV
SM
Crespi
VM
CC
Serra
Chaminade
Plus more will all be very good

One thing Idk if anyone else picked up on.. See how slow the DLS players are getting up.. They look like they haven't seen this speed or been hit like this all year.. Despite the score.. That's the point what If DLS had to go thru CC, VM, Narbonne, St Bonnie, Poly to win section... Not every game would be lopsided

Centennial can play with these guys. Too many turnovers. If they make DLS throw the game is in their favor but they keep  putting the ball on the turf

21 gifted points for DLS off of cheap turnovers. Other than that, CC has done a pretty good job on defense and offense. Only down 14 is still doable at this point.

And of course the moment I bring that up, CC's horrendous defense shows up again.

I like what Im seeing though Centennial can win this with a stop here and a score. They have something going on offense with those two quick recievers.

They can't give up a score here, though.

Yep this is the game if they give up a score.
They have just as much offense as DLS right now though.

DLS has been guilty of more than their share of uncharacteristic penalties.
