Re: All Marmonte Team

Congratulations to all the players who made the All Star team.
The powers to be have made their selections and it is what it is.

Talked with Tony Mekari today and am so proud and happy for his award.
One of the all time best people at Westlake.
So humble and a great attitude.
Plus the boy can play football and worked thru injuries this year.

Brennan Ray, Jake and Kyle Rothschiller, are also guys who gave 110% each and every game.
Way to go boys.

How about players like Chad Hansen, Zach Green, Ricky Town, Cameron Judge, Francis Owusu, and Aaron Stanton?
These are guys that caught my eye during the Season.

Best of luck to each and every one of these gentlemen in the future.
Thanks for all the enjoyment you have provided Family, friends. and football fans each and every Friday. Been a pleasure as always. biggrin
It's not whether you win or lose but what you learn as a member of your team that really matters.

Citi,

The only joke on this board is you and your posts! Seems like you know better than all the coaches who vote in the league. Congrats to all these kids and best of luck to them moving forward.

Uhh yeah, how Green wasn't MVP is mind boggling, but I can understand that politics do exist. Why a QB on a team that didn't even make the playoffs was made MVP is beyond crazy to me.

Re: All Marmonte Team

LOL

I actually thought that this post was a practical joke and someone put the newberry park QB as the MVP to be funny.  Holy ****... they actually voted him in over green.

Unbelievable...  I don't think idiotic quite gives this justice...

who the hell is he anyways?  I have never heard anyone mention him on these boards.

I must agree there are many highly questionable selections.

The best player on the Westlake team was #48 Tomasi Laulile and I dont see his name anywherenoidea

And no Nunnery on defense? Wat? How does one of the best corners in the league, if not probably the best, not get mentioned?

Re: All Marmonte Team

These selctions are ridiculous. How can you take 10 teams and have all 10 team votes for half of the schools they didn't even play? Some of these selctions......wow. Bonny wins the league and they dont get the MVP, and now some of these players who got 2nd team, who deserve 1st team honors cannot make the All-County Team. The kicker from Westlake as the 2nd team kicker?

Is it possible the public school coaches won't vote for the private school kids?

Have you sat though an All League selection meeting ?

It ain't about who actually is or isn't the best choice . Gotta be fair and not have one school Dominate the selections . Only going by what was done during league kinda sucks for teams like SB and OC . They blow everybody but each other out . Their starters are out by halftime . Congrats to all the kids from the Marmonte biggrin

It ain't where you from it's where you at ...

Re: All Marmonte Team

This is the feel good team.

Just like when the boys play T-ball, everyone gets an award/trophy.

I did not see every team play this year.  Impossible when they don't play each other.  I think they should've had two Marmonte All-League teams one for the East and one for the West.  That would've been the only thing that made sense this year.

I watched Green play.  He is the POY no question about that!!!!

I also think that when you have two teams dominate everyone else there is a reason and those two teams should have the majority of the players named to the All-League teams.

Back in the good-ole days you were selected to the All-League team when you the BEST at your position.  It was never to make sure every team was represented on the All-League team.

I'm sure some if not most of these players were the best in their position on their own team.  That doesn't mean you were better than everyone else in the league at your position.  The kicker from Westlake broke Ball's records from last year.  How isn't he the best??

Sorry if I'm hurting anyone's feelings here.

You bet it is.  And I bet it won't just be the Marmonte League, we will see it in many leagues that have publics and privates where the privates did well.

Sorry, but I don't think this has anything to do with privates vs. publics.  It has to do with the coaches want their own players on the All-League team opposed to having the BEST players at the positions they played.

I just don't understand watering down a team that is suppose to represent your team.  To me an All-League team means you pick the very BEST players period.  Not all teams need to be represented on the First team.  Put them on the 2nd team and Honorable mention.

RE: All Marmonte Team

Simply put: PAY BACK.
If you can't beat em on the field, don't vote for em off the field. IN OTHER WORDS F.U.,
The only way we can do it to you and perhaps you'll like the climate elsewhere.

This is symptomatic of what happens when the dumbo's at CIF dump programs like OC and the Seraphs into a league like the Marmonte. Which subsequently, initiated the Westlake recruiting blitz. The remaining 7 then exercise whatever power they have. How many games this year was the score elevated by the BIG 3 against the LITTLE 7?

Green is my choice for overall MVP. That being said, the kid from NP was selected by due process as prescribed by the League and he deserves ALL the congrats.
NOT HIS FAULT.

NOT ANY OF THE KIDS FAULT. THOSE SELECTED AND THOSE LEFT OFF.
NOW STOP RAMMING THE PLAYERS.

One last thing, NADE said it best. M-League is F'd Up glad in one year it will be completely BLOWN APART.

RE: All Marmonte Team

Green not MVP is a crime.  Just like the league itself, the process is stupid.  Example, each side (west & east) picks 4 all league backs.  Thats quarterbacks and running backs so it is a formula for someone getting screwed.  I have heard that almost every team was pushing someone for MVP, I would like to know if this is true?  Were teams like calabasas, simi, and royal pushing one of their players for a top award?

RE: All Marmonte Team

I'm not trying to take-away from the players.  They played hard all season.  The coaches and AD's need to decide what All-League really means?

Interesting breakdown of the schools;

East League
1 - SB 6-Offense and 3-Defense players (This makes sense, they were solid, only thing missing is Green was and is the POY)

2 - WL 2-Offense and 2-Defense players (I thought they were a much better them then this, maybe their injuries hurt them too much)

3 - NP 5-Offense and 1-Defense players (WOW!!  I think they should've have finished higher with all of these All-League players on their team)

4 - RO 2-Offense and 3-Defense players (I didn't see them)

5 - SV 1-Offense (this makes sense)

West League
1 - OC had 1-Offense and 5-Defense players  (I thought they had a better offense then defense this year).

2 - MP had 7-Offense and 1-Defense players (Their offense did nothing against OC, maybe that is why OC had 5 players selected)

3 - TO had 5-Offense and 3-Defense players (They were an average team this year)

4 - Cal had 2-Offense players

5 - AG had 1-Offense and 1-Defense players
