Chaminade at Serra

Chaminade at Serra

This is the rematch we all expected and its going to be a good one.

Serra is the most talented team in the division, it will take a perfect game from Nade to beat these guys.

Nade's passing game is much better than it was the first time around so thats a plus.
Donovan Lee adds another dimension to the passing game.

These are the two best D2 teams in the state right now, this is the state D2 championship IMO.

Good luck to both teams this week its going to be a real crowd pleaser.

I believe both teams are EXTREMELY hungry, each for obvious reasons. The game will be determined by who wants it more and flawless execution on both sides of the ball. Good luck and health to each team.

Edison would disagree. Their loss compared to these two teams is far more impressive than losing to oaks or getting blown out by Chaminade. Edison has one loss to mater dei in which they out gained them and if not for some bad penalties would still be undefeated. Keep patting your opinion on the back though.

This game should be called the "meaningless Bowl"

Meaningless because neither team belongs in the Western. CIF spoon feed these 2 teams into a championship  ........

Cervesa is right....

The Mission League should be playing in the Northern Division. Guess thats a different thread, for a different day. Serra has a tough task, not easy to beat a team twice. The Cavs will load the box to stop Newby, so the Nade has be able to throw the ball against man coverage. Will be close......Nade-21 Cavs 17

Edison hasnt beaten anyone. Chaminade and Serra both beat ND a Pac5 quarter finalist who was within a minute of beating SJB. Serra beat Poly a Pac5 finalist. Thats much better than any loss to Mater Dei.

Edison has a good loss just like Hart did against Tesoro. We all know how that worked out.

Chaminade and Serra would be no different than what the Northern had before with SB and Oaks. The CIF wasnt going to do thatafter all the complaining by the Foothill and Pac7.Foothill and Pac7 would have fought that tooth and nail.

The Western Division is what would've been considered Division 4, the Central Division is Division 5

Who was blown out by Chaminade? It wasn't Serra, the score was 28-20 and I know Chaminade didn't have a game against themselves.

The winner of next weeks game should be going to the regional game. Edison and Oside should fight it out for the other spot.

Even with 2 losses serra played a much more difficult schedule than either Edison or Oside.

From the MaxPreps article regarding regional bowl rankings......The Western Division champion will likely receive one of the regional bids. Oceanside has the best chance of gaining the other bid at this point, unless Edison knocks off an unbeaten Tustin.

My mistake thought the score was more lopsided than that.

I see Chaminade and Serra are both rated 59.4 on calpreps.

How much closer can it get?

Even though Nade has to travel and play at Serra Im glad it worked out this way. if you want to be the best you have to play the best and Serra is definitely the better team than Lompoc. This is the way it was meant to be, My guess is that Calpreps will have this projected as a tie, I have never seen a tie projection on Calpreps before but I feel that's what it will spit out tomorrow.

RE: Chaminade at Serra

You guys keep making my point. You both point out your accomplishments against good Pac-5 teams and rightfully so. But then why are you both still in a division playing against small public schools with less than 1000 kids?

I know the argument, we don't need to beat that dead horse again. My issue as always been why the chest pounding when you thrash a school like Morro Bay. Doing so belittles the people in the know like most of the posters on this forum that support their local public school.

We all predicted back in April that the Western would be won by one of three schools and that the semis would be 3 Mission schools and Lompoc. We all knew, why didn't CIF see it coming ............ unless they started the intentional gift wrapping back in January ......... sad

Bottom line: Time for public's to demand a separation. Public schools who have open enrollment should be tossed in with the privates.

Great now go propose a solution on one of your other threads where someone might listen.

This thread is for a championship final not a debate on privates, publics place in the CIF.
