Can Anybody Recommend any Beach-Front Condos in Florida?

Can Anybody Recommend any Beach-Front Condos in Florida?

My wife is planning a family vacation in July (I know ohlord).  There's 12 of us going, but we need to rent a condo on the beach, so that our dads don't have to walk that far.

Any recommendations?

Check on VRBO. That would at least be a start.

We rented in Myrtle Beach, a 2600 sq ft, 6 bedroom condo.

Used Homeaway.com where you rent from owners. Worked out great

You should have done this months ago, good luck.

The Gulf Coast side. Anything with beautiful blue water, and great beach sands. My wife is being picky.

Really? I just went there and found it mostly ad free. We stayed on the beach in north Naples /Bonita springs. Really nice beach and pretty chill.
Fast, cheap, or good.

Pick two.

Check out Siesta Key.   White sand beaches and gulf sunsets.  Plenty of beach front condos there.

I have used this site to look for rentals in the past.

Yeah I don't have that problem with vrbo either. Maybe your pop up blocker needs turned up a notch or something. I don't see any adds on that site.

I am puzzled by your experience. I just tried a moment ago and had no ads. Typed vrbo into google, got an option to go direct to the Fla section, showed whatever area you may be interested in. As I said, I am puzzled, I never had any problems(and I look there a lot).

Anywhere near Del Boca Vista would probably work.  Say hi to Morty for me.

It's my browser, Firefox.  Worked fine on internet explorer.

Re: Can Anybody Recommend any Beach-Front Condos in Florida?

All good suggestions.
Look into Naples, its wonderful.
You can get a condo or hotel across the street from the beach, or hotels have transportation to the beach.
Its no trouble at all not staying on the beach.
Look into the beachfront hotels, you can get a bay view much cheaper than an ocean view.

If you are around Ft. Myers, http://www.mariosmeatmarket.com/
Wonderful store, on 41, near fort myers airport.

Marco Island is nice too

And pittsburgh SSSSUCKS

Just wanted to thank you guys for all the great info. My wife makes fun of me for asking help on OBR, but some of the best advice comes from my family at OBR.

Again, thank you!

Re: Can Anybody Recommend any Beach-Front Condos in Florida?

I have been to Destin and Siesta Key. Destin has more to do and better ocean, but Siesta Key is just the best for a relax and the beach itself can not be beat.  Plus, you know a guy who can help get you into the right place.    Looks like you can't lose.

AND VRBO is awesome

If you want to save money and at the same time have the experience of beachfront and tourism check out the beach side of Central Florida in Cocoa Beach and Melbourne and other cities, plus right out of Cape Canaveral you have three different types of cruises avaliable including Disney,Carnavel and Royal Carribean. Also the Kennedy Space Center. Plus you are less then an hour or so away from Orlando with DisneyWorld and the Epcot Center.

I guess he's pointing out one of the drawbacks.  There's nothing worse than putting up with the traffic in Orlando in the summertime.  The place is inundated with families who's kids are out of school.  Plus the crowds and the heat at DW and Universal make it miserable.

Besides, the west coach beaches are far superior to any on the east coast.  And if you have to go, Orlando a 2 hour drive away.  And don't go by "Miami Vice" or "Burn Notice" you DON'T want to go to Miami.  Siesta Key is great, or Naples, or Clearwater.

I agree with you as far as the west coast beaches (lived there)theres just no comparison. I suggested these places  because its where I live now. Good luck with finding the right place to vacation in sunny Florida my friend!

I also highly recommend Destin.

I haven't stayed at Silver Beach towers but it's a sister property to Silver Shells. Both are very nice. Silver Shells has a huge lagoon pool and cool beach bar.

Emerald Grande is also very nice. The beach there requires you hop on a little shuttle boat to get to it but that isn't a huge deal. EG sits above shopping and bars and is very upscale. Great couples place. Plus you can stumble to McGuire's for the the best prime rib you'll ever have.

Silver Shells is a bit more family oriented but also very upscale.

I also highly recommend renting a pontoon and dropping anchor on Crab Island. Lots of fun partying there, especially on weekends.

Sarasota is very nice too, lived there a few years. But I do prefer Destin. Beaches are comparable with their white sugar sand but Destin has more stuff to do, in my opinion.

I second VRBO. Also check out the Destin TripAdvisor forums for advice on good places to eat and what to avoid. That changes with each season and the forums for Destin are very active and informative. I imagine the forums for Sarasota are also helpful too.

Cape San Blas. It's about 25 miles east of Panama City.

Miami beach is a nice place for visiting, and you can easily find luxury condos for rent in reasonable price. I'm sure you will enjoy your vacations at this place.
