RE: Anyone watch American Idol here?
Now he has to watch.
Let's just say Steven Tyler told the guy he needed to get serious. And Tyler is a goof.
The guy can't sing a lick and America keeps voting him through....ah the show's Achilles. America is so sick of it they will sabotage by voting for this gawd awful contestant. That would be funny if he wins....he's bad.

RE: Anyone watch American Idol here?
Thing with HeeJun is if China starts watching and voting he could win. Steven Tyler was pissed as his performance..it was funny. Still don't like Jessica, good singing but no artism to her at all, every song sounds the same, same with Joshua.

Re: Anyone watch American Idol here?
I had to bump this up because I am a huge blues fan and tonight Phillip Phillips did a great version of Still Raining by Johnny Lang. Unbelievable. I don't expect him to win because just like Chris Daughtry he won't have to win to be famous and the show gets a 2 for one if he doesn't win.

I know new music sucks, Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin rock blah blah, yeah I get the music tastes on this board (at least the loud tastes)
Anyway anyone watching?
Please I get it's lame and leave the it's lame comments to yourself. I'm sure your cooking shows are just as lame. So I guess you could sum up up the show in two words.....bad ass?????

Elise Testone sang a great Led Zeppelin song "Whole Lotta Love" and just killed it . I think it was the best of the night followed closely by Phil Phillips.

Re: Anyone watch American Idol here?
Phil Philips or that other kid with the blonde streaks in his hair are the best this season. Phil Phillips should win, but the girls like the other kid and I'm sure he'll get the votes. He is talented, though; they both are.
Let me say one thing:
I am sick and tired of all the contestanst being selected and then singing Country music all the time. I honestly thought the winner was supposed to be a pop star and my feelings are that if they want to be Country music stars then they should get their own show. Country music sucks and it all sounds the same.
Also, Steven Tyler is an idiot and Jennifer Lopez actually out-stupids Paula Abdul. I didn't think it could be done but it has been done. And, that Randy Jackson and Jimmy Iovine are full of themselves and full of s***..
That show, believe it or not, needs Simon more than ever. At least he was honest and forthright. The judges now just slobber over one another and the contestants.

Re: Anyone watch American Idol here?
Honestly, none of them sang badly last night. Not even Heejun, who was poised to become the latest incarnation of Sanjaya Malakar.
Bottom 3: Heejun, Deandre & Elise (She doesn't deserve to be there, but she's not very likeable.). There's a slight chance Holly ends up there too, just because the judges were so critical of her performance.
Heejun goes home.

PBT Simon was an ass but yeah the show is really missing him. As for your country show comment I believe that they do have one called Country Star or something like that.

Heejun goes home. Heejun had one thing going for him, his sense of humor, they took that away from him and he became just another guy. He has a nice voice. Not great, but nice. In some years that would have been enough to get by, but not this year. And yes, I like his dry sense of humor, which would have been fine if he had sung better. Tyler really tore him up last week - and deservedly so - not because of the comedy bit, but because he sacrificed the singing for the joke.

RE: Anyone watch American Idol here?
Phil Phillips will win very mainstream and marketable. Maybe Colton. If you are older Elise, ethnic, plump, or female, you have zero chance of winning mainly because of the voting demographics. Idol winners do not have relavacy in the music business, at least since Carrie Underwood.

Christ, what's this place coming to? Maybe it's a good thing if the Mayans are right. Oddly, because of trips in the past (before I got too old), I've seen more of Canadian Idol than American Idol, either of which can pull you in. I usually had to find out who won over the phone.
Regarding DWTS, the less enthusiastic could just consider it an extension of the NFL season, since Jerry Rice (2nd), Emmitt Smith (1st), Warren Sapp (2nd, I think), Kurt Warner (lasted until about Week Six), Jason Taylor (finals?), Hines Ward (1st) and Donald Driver (in progress, looking pretty good) have done quite well. Lawrence Taylor, Chad Johnson, and Michael Irvin, not so much.
Week Two was a big disappointment this week, quite a fall off from an outstanding Week One.

Re: Anyone watch American Idol here?
Hee Jun, to me, is way out there. Sometimes, he acts timid and scared, sometimes he acts confused, but most of the time he acts flippant and disinterested. But, when Steven Tyler got mad at Hee Jun for "not taking the contest seriously," I thought, "yeah, you should talk. How many drug-addled stage dives have you done and broke limbs in front of people who paid good money to see Aerosmith, and also how many show cancellations did you have during all your drug rehab stints?" I have NEVER liked Aerosmith... never. Not one song at all. I respect their longevity, but I think they're over-rated and Steven Tyler is a screamer, not a singer. He's got an alright voice, but his accent doesn't help his cause and the only songs he can do well on are ballads. Colton and Phil Phillips are going to be in the final 2, unless they're adamant about 1 guy and 1 gal, but none of the girls are as good as Colton and Phil, IMO. Some of these judges Jimmy Iovine brings in to coach these kids are idiots. Stevie Nicks was, IMO, one of the best judges yet. Puff Daddy, P.Diddy whatever he calls himself these days has to be the worst so far. I had to laugh when he gave singing advice; he's a rapper and a terrible one at that. Mary J. Blige was the 2nd worst singing coach. She tells these kids to hit the notes and make it believable and then comes out the next day and sings a horribly boring song off-key. I never understood her appeal because she's not that good. And I hope they NEVER bring back Tommy Hilfiger. What in the Hell is the matter with that guy? He knows as much about style as a blind person. Elise should have been gone weeks ago, but they sent home Jermaine for Arrest Warrant violation3s. They loved him, too (the judges). I thought he stunk. Still, Elise should thank her lucky stars that she's still there. She'll be gone eventually. And, I hope they get rid of that Skylar chick. Too much country twang, not enough talent. The rest of the contestants are forgettable and cookie cutter clones of what we've seen in the past time and time again. Even the judges are trying to convince themselves and America that they made good choices with their picks of the contestants. Terrible picks so far. I think American Idol is about reached it's expiration date. PBT

I love American Idol so long as I have a tivo so i can zip through the filler material. Some of these kids are good, undeveloped and they bring them along as pop stars before your eyes. Some are the Derek Andersons with powerful voices but cant hit all the notes; some are the Kelly Holcombs, the Ryan Leafs, etc.. Don't get me wrong, none of these people are great artists like some jazz player on acid in 1946 that 99% will never appreciate. They are just dorky kids, some with considerable talent to become pop singers.

PBT Nicks was easily the best, Hilfinger sucks, Axel should have beat his ass. I agree the rest are forgettable, Holly is boring, Joshua is too gospel...which is worse than Skylar's country twang, Elise is ok but limited and not very popular, Deandre will be gone next week (80's week) if he doesn't do a Prince song. Jessica can sing but is annoying for some reason, I hate watching her sing as much as I hate watching Celine Dion sing. Colton could be screwed if he doesn't ease up on the God stuff (which has been magnified only because of TMZ) and honestly Phillip even needs to change it up a bit after the last 2 weeks. I loved both songs but they were very close in style. He could use one week to put down the guitar or to do a ballad by himself with only his guitar. I just hope he doesn't do Thriller for 80's week, it was cool for 30 seconds but I don't want to hear the entire version.

What in the world did you even search to find something like that? For the record I said I know more about them not that I like them.
