Glaring omission, if so.  I know it's been a while, but I shouldn't have forgotten that one.  Definitely Top 5, if, you know, I had a Top 5.
AND Ali G.... damn....

Candid Camera should be up there as well.  Ground breaking and STILL funny.

Why don't you guys just stick to phucking up lousy threads that one of you starts?

The clip Chopper posted wasn't from the 1930s and it wasn't in black & white, so the odds of you having watched it and knowing what I was referring to are approximately zero.

I could try sticking to Charlie Chaplin references if you like. noidea

I was right... you're still not funny.  And I doubt you can improve.  There are several forums for you to practice in though.

Not sure if I have ever laughed more at a single sitcom moment in my entire life. Now I have to watch it when I get home biggrin

Breaking Bad
The Walking Dead
Game of Thrones
Dexter

All shows that I could watch straight through in a marathon format.

Seinfeld just for something that I can turn on at any time and be entertained....even if I've already seen every episode 5 times.

I got my first ass whooping because of that show. I didn't have the special sheet that covered the TV screen and just drew straight on the glass with crayons. My ass was sore for a week.

LOL! Some numbskull kids, instead of drawing with those crayons, reportedly ate them.

Sitting/standing in front of those old black-and-white, cathode-ray TV screens they also got an unhealthy dose of electromagnetic radiation. If that were happening today the lawsuits would be stupendous.

Here's a link showing what the Winky Dink experience -- the first interactive TV show -- looked like:

Here'a a longer clip of the same episode.  It covers about the whole last half of the episode and includes some transitional footage edited out of the above link.

RE: Five best TV series of all time

My god, I had my five picked out and then started reading all the threads and would say "Oh yeah, forgot about that one! Oooh-ooh, that's another one, and so on......So many to pare down to a measly five (course when you grew up in the 60's, you watched a lot more TV than most people on this board).

Star Trek
Superman (with George Reeves)
Outer Limits
Maya
Wiseguy

Hate to leave out the following runners-up:

South Park
L.A. Law
Boston Legal
Seinfeld
Twilight Zone
Taxi
WKRP
Wild Kingdom
I Belong to Mensuh

Way back in the day CBS aired Mash, Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart one after the other.

For new comedies I like "New Girl."  That and Modern Family are the only shows that make me laugh out loud.
