Sounds like it's "put up or shut up" time for Chris Grant.  If this team doesn't compete for a playoff spot, there will be accountability throughout the organization.  I love that Dan Gilbert allows the basketball guys make basketball decisions but is holding them accountable.

Nick the good luck piece... Way to go.

Exciting day. Too bad Andrew Wiggins wasn't available.

Wow! Awesome. The Cavs couldn't have asked for better luck in the lottery the past few years. Excited about the future.

I have to assume it is going to be Noel.

I like both McClemore and Noel.  But Noel seemingly fits so well.  I think it's gonna be Noel.

Wouldn't be surprised with a trade either.

The bigger question to me is what happens with the rest of the Cavaliers draft? Do we stay at #19? 31? 33? Are they packaged? Assuming Nerlens Noel goes #1, do we go perimeter help with the rest of the draft?

Looked at draft preview and BIG concern is Noel weighs only 205 lbs. metrics say he is very light for the position. Plus his injury, not sure but he has to be number 1 I guess? Too bad not next years group of players to pick from.

I love McLemore since I'm a KU fan, but not sure he should be 1 and fits with Cavs?

Same here. Tough to pass on pairing Kyrie and Noel for the next 12 years. Noel has tons of upside. You trade down and you could be regretting it for a long long time. Tough to play Noel and Thompson at the same time though. Unless Noel could evolve into a big 3.

I think it's McLemore with the 1st and then a trade up to 14-16 and get their big, Withey or Dieng
Hoyer in '14
Watkins at #4, DB at #26

Noel or trade.
If the Cavaliers aren't comfortable with Noel's knee they could trade the pick for a young veteran or trade down for another center, like Len.  Also can't rule out Porter, if they elect to trade down.

I am just a little worried about tall skinny guys who have knee issues.  I am thinking the Cavs are hoping someone really wants Noel and they can stay in the top 5 and pick up a lottery pick for next year.
And if they take Noel, I don't see how this affects Grant, Noel isn't likely to be available this year, so kind of hard to judge Grant's abilities if the consensus #1 is not going to be playing for you.

The caveat there is that he JUST turned 19 in April.  He's light, but not hopelessly light

This isn't like Greg Oden, who just had knee problems on his own.
Noel tore his ACL on a freak play where he hit his knee against the basket support on a fast break play against Florida.  Basically he went up to block a shot and came down into the basket support.

I really don't know what the Cavs should do. I know a lot of people really like Noel and I do also but, I have 2 big concerns about him. Number 1, the guy is only about 200 lbs, how the hell is he even going to hang with NBA centers? Number 2 is the knee. I know an ACL injury is not career threatening like it was years ago but, it still is an ACL injury. Man, I hope they do not screw up this pick.

Remember though, he hasn't even had an offseason in a college weight training program.  I don't think he'll ever be a bulky guy but he should be able to put on weight.

Shaq had something that resembled and offensive game.
This kid has nothing. Huge project.
Personally I take the kid from Kansas. You know? Points. Something we can't seem to find that wont get better under brown.
Still would think about porter too. Maclemore or Porter, I'd pass on the kid from Kentucky.

I like McLemore, I do question if he has the killer instinct though.  Also points don't seem to be the top priority right now.  Rather defense, and Noel can provide that right away.
