Pittsburgh - City of Champions 2009. Pittsburgh sucks!

Well, the Steelers won the Super Bowl and the Penguins won the Stanley Cup, allowing Pittsburgh to lay claim to being this year's City of Champions.  What Pittsburgh's hockey team did stands in sharp contrast to our Cavs falling short in the two cities' indoor winter sports.  The Pens scrambled upward, we started on top and slipped away.  This just highlights the difference in fortunes between two cities a turnpike hop away.  (And I had sort of hoped that Columbus might shock the world this hockey season to dent the cur ... er ... string of empty sports' results on the Lake and the Buckeye state this last half century.)

At least the final here was between two rust belt cities, although Detroit probably could have used the morale boost more (considering the state of the auto industry and the Lions' last season -- still, the Tigers are doing fairly well this summer, so far).  I would prefer the rust belt battles to be between Cleveland and Buffalo, but that wouldn't work in basketball or hockey, only football.

Pittsburgh is this year's Boston.

Congratulations, Penguins, Steelers, and the city of Pittsburgh.  A Stanley Cup and a Lombardi within six months -- very impressive!

Go Browns!

g:   I do not believe I've ever been to the Pittsburgh forum and have no desire to go there.  I'm not happy about their success in football, especially at our expense, the exact opposite of what I watched growing up (pre-Noll years).  Until the recent advent of the Blue Jackets in Columbus, Pittsburgh's hockey success meant nothing, but now we have a horse in that race, too, if not, unfortunately, in this last series.

This has been Pittsburgh's year, so far, however disappointing that is.

I find it funny that people complain to no end when Cavs threads are posted in the watercooler, but someone still thought it would be ok to congratulate the Penns in here. They are a Pittsburgh team for god sakes, this along with the game is making me sick.

Browns' fans are slowly turning into Pittsburgh fans.  We're becoming as fair weather as Pittsburgh is.  It's times like this when I'm embarrassed to be a fan......  when our fans are patting Pittsburgh on the back

The strike is over??

There are some days when even I think I'm over-rated. Today is not one of them.

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to be me?

It's all about the orange helmet, not your favorite player or coach.

I would rather die a loser then even think about cheering for a Pittsburgh team. You are correct these are troubling times...

My watercooker is working just fine. You may want to check yours for rust build-up. Call an expert if trouble persists.

Actually it went as follows if I recall correctly.

NBC...NBC...VS...VS...NBC...NBC...NBC
Robin Cole #56 played LB for twelve seasons for the Steelers. Though he played with many great Pittsburgh linebackers, he is considered one of the best from his peers.

For some reason grayhound decided to put a saucer full of cock spit on the living room floor. (Though it's no surprise to see folks like Stainless and "SS"BK lapping it up like grateful little kittens.)

I'd rather not ignore the guy, I'd really like a feature where you could keep a note on someone. For instance maybe if you could personalize his status?

If you are Cleveland Browns fan you should never root for ANY Pittsburgh team. I dont care if its AAA baseball.

You want to root for the Penguins........then go root for the Steelers. Stay out of my stadium.

WHAAA WHAAA!!! Get over it. When was the last time Cleveland won a Super Bowl?? 45+ years?? Don't hate a City just cuz they are better than you in sports. Pittsburgh IS the City of Champions and give them the respect they deserve.

Grayhound yu are no longer worthy of being a Browns fan. I think everyone should put you on ignore and then just add to any of your posts that you're a closet stealer and pittspuke fan. Get the heck oout of NE Ohio, we don't need your ilk here at all. Just remeber now that every time I see one of your posts I'm calling you out as a stealer fan not a Browns fan you freaking azzhole. Go move to pukesburg and then die and do us all a favor.

You are a bandwagon jumping fake Browns fan to say the least.

g:  What a string of nonsensical responses to a note of congratulations to winners of both the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup within a six-month period -- the above being among the silliest!

This cacaphony of poor sportsmanship is an embarrassment to Browns fans and the City of Cleveland, a bit like LeBron not shaking hands after our loss to Orlando (although, thankfully, here with a minimal audience).

I'm amazed that some moderator could also add "I love Pittsburgh" to the subject line -- something that should be looked into by Barry -- what an abuse of fiduciary responsibility.

The evidence of pettiness here by putative Browns fans is troubling.  You've given critics of Cleveland fans more fodder for their criticism and support for their views of us.  For someone who has followed Cleveland sports for over half a century, I would say the responses in this thread are the most pitiful of all Cleveland sports reactions I've seen, worse than those following the many late contest folds.  It's a shame and classless.  Pity.
