Anyone buy PS Vita?

I would love to hear impressions and thoughts on it.

I know it can not play PSOne classics (yet), but can it play all the PSP downloadable games?  Also want impressions on Uncharted.

Check your Inbox.  I'm sending you what I believe is a fix for the problem, which I think is directly related to Internet Explorer 9.

Not into handhelds but it looks pretty slick.  Definitely would be the handheld I invest in if I were to,  I just don't seem them as that viable anymore with Cellphones crouching on that territory.  Heard the launch games for it pretty awesome though.

Re: Anyone buy PS Vita?

A coworker brought it to work and let me play with it.

Graphics are very awesome, every bit ps2 quality and almost ps3 quality. Played uncharted on it.

Front and back touchscreen was as good as any phone or tablet I've had in my hands. Very responsive and smooth. Double thumb sticks were nice (about time).

Hulu and netflix movies will be nice on it.

The problem I have with it is for $300 (by the time you buy the separate memory card) it would be nice if the web browser wasn't complete garbage. I can browse smoother and faster on my phone.

As a gamer I would love to have one, but for the price it would be nice if it did something else at least decently. For $200 more I could get a galaxy tab.

Don't have one and won't buy one. For what I'm looking for in a handheld, my iPhone does everything I want and it just slides right in my pocket.

I couldn't understand Sony's decision to launch another handheld. I have a buddy who is a hardcore gamer and he isn't interested in it and none of his gamer buddies are thinking of buying one.

RE: Anyone buy PS Vita?

Back in business!  Thanks 80s - I was quite confused.

I played the Vita at Best Buy the other day and came away impressed as hell.  Got to play Wipeout and a little Uncharted.  Amongst all the features (which were all top notch), the pure design and weightlessness of it impressed me the most.

I still don't know if I agree with the concept of "hardcore" portable games, but when the price comes down - I will be enticed.  I bought a 3DS already, so Sony has to convince me to trade it in for a Vita.  (Might not be hard to do considering I play my 3DS with the 3D off.  God I hate 3D...)

I just started Uncharted 3 on PS3 tonight.  Now it has me even more tempted to get the Vita so I can play their Uncharted game too.  Also there will be a Silent Hill for it this month.  I'm looking at tv's now, but for the price....

RE: Anyone buy PS Vita?

I finally bought a PS3 about a month ago, just for Uncharted 3. Made one play-through, excellent game.
I like the PS3 somewhat more than the 360. (smaller, more quiet, ease of operation, free on-line gaming, etc.)
Not getting a Vita though, I'll never get anything done at work!

There was a promotion on buy.com yesterday and I ordered a Vita last night.  I'll give impressions when I receive/play with it.

Re: Anyone buy PS Vita?

After a week with my Vita I am very happy with it as a gaming device.  It's a great piece of hardware with a beautiful display, dual analogs, and good feel.  The front and back touchscreens are nice, but gimmicky so far IMO.

I've  bought Uncharted and 2  PSP games (it can play PSP games) Final Fantasy IV Complete and Silent Hill Origins.  I haven't played Uncharted yet other than the demo, I want to beat part 3 on PS3 first, but have been chugging away on FFIV, I forgot how classic that game is.

The web browser is average at best.  It's not good for checking e-mail, but seems fine on other basic sites.  Facebook is a nice app, but you can only see so much of your news feed before it won't load anymore, a big drawback IMO.  There is a Netflix app, but I don't have a subscription, but I'd imagine it does the job.

My opinion, it's great for gaming, and anything else is an after thought.  This is a gaming device first, and while I admire the ability to browse web sites, listen to music, etc.  they are limited. I'd like to see those improved to match tablets through updates down the road.

What's most exciting for me is the potential.  There will be a Call Of Duty released this year with full fledged multiplayer which is very telling of what this device is capable of.
