The Grammys
In between picking selected shows off the DVR, we managed to catch select performances from the Grammys. Well, pieces of them as they all sucked. And according to Twitter, these were not isolated occurrences.
In related news, rumors of the authorities releasing John Lennon's killer to euthanize McCartney are just speculative at this time.
What would you rather watch all evening?

RE: The Grammys
You would have to pay me to sit through the Grammys. The only awards show worth watching is the Golden Globes when Ricky Gervais is hosting. The Globes do it right - they serve booze, let the host bust on the stars a bit, and do a better job of picking winners. Compare them to the Oscars - the Globes picked E.T. over Gandhi, Saving Private Ryan over Shakespeare in Love, and Brokeback Mountain over Crash. And they do it all while Ricky Gervais makes jokes about Mel Gibson being a drunken ****** right to his face.

Re: The Grammys
Any awards show is about the same as watching the Pro Bowl.
It's an idea that has jumped the deceased shark.

I couldn't agree more When the stars watch me get the Slacky for message board poster of the year, then I'll give a crap about them fellating each other on their accomplishments. Until then, they are just a bunch of drama or band geeks who happen to make a lot of money. True story: I was drinking this weekend with a guy that went to HS with Axl Rose. Said he was really stupid - couldn't even pass shop. And was kind of a greasy little nothing punk that nobody liked. None of this comes as a surprise to me.

A couple of years ago I would have agreed with you, but Ricky Gervais reinvented the Awards Show as a roast, and I think the concept really works well.
