Well, we now know. It's going to be Richardson after trading up one spot.

Cause Tampa was gonna trade up and get him.

I have no issue with Richardson, but why can't we just let the draft come to us.  Wife's mad already, swearing before the draft even starts

**edit to say that the price wasn't too bad.  Was afraid it cost us a 3rd.  Still believe the cost would have been higher if Tampa actually had an offer out there.

It's never fun to feel buyer's remorse, but I really don't feel like we will miss the 3 picks we gave up.  If they really feel someone else had made a good offer to get there, then why not give up a little to get your guy.  He's the guy I wanted, so I'll be happy and eagerly await 22.  Hoping it was Atlanta's 4th, if so, thanks Julio...

I think we did let the draft come to us - Minnesota came to us and said "we've got a deal with [x]," the Browns confirmed it, and made a move for a player that they coveted a helluva lot more than they let on. Clearly, they think Richardson is MUCH better than either the next best players on their board or whatever they would have received in return on a deal for the 4th pick.

The Browns' front office had to decide whether the Vikings would find a trade partner. I think Heckert realized the Vikings were going to deal... and I'm glad we used our surplus of picks to not lose out on our guy, probably Richardson.

No problem with that at all.  We kept 67 and 100 and still (even after taking Richardson) have picks in all 7 rounds.  For once, we're being proactive and not reactive.

Browns still have 10 picks. We didn't expect them to use them all. And the team got their guy. And none of those picks were early.

So, while I don't like a trade up by only one pick, I won't complain at all.

Logic says Minny was never going to take TRich - coulda taken Kalil, Claiborne, or maybe even Blackmon at 3.   Browns would've been happy waiting knowing Minny could've taken any of those as they had their sights on someone else, or were OK with Minny's leftovers.  Must have been a serious trade out threat to Minny for someone wanting the one guy Cleveland really wanted...  has to be TRich.

Didn't like the idea of picking up Trent Richardson at 4, at least the tradeup wasn't for too much. Here's hoping that the team trades down from 22 for more picks.

Either way, the strong run defenses of Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Baltimore are probably shaking in their boots - the weak run blocking OL, Owen Marecic, and Trent Richardson are coming at ya.

evidently my thread got locked for some reason, but whatever, I love the idea of  getting Richardson but we did give up some.

Good to hear the 4th round pick was Atlanta's

I'm hoping for Stephen Hill now

2012 - the year we didn't get RGIII but landed John Hughes!

Not to sound TOO crabby though, it's consoling to know that the 1st round draft pick of Cleveland won't bust. Let's just hope Cleveland can win before he wears down or begins asking for too much money.

Re: In the FIRST round, the Cleveland Browns select...

He's going to be a great player.  I have no doubt.  I don't care about the extinct RB crap.  A great player is a great player and the RB position is still VERY valuable in this league.  The player behind the QB will always have a role and this kid can do it all.  Great job by the Browns moving around to get their guy.  You don;t get many starters out of the draft anyways.  Most are camp fodder.  If you like a guy you take him.  We liked richardson fro obvious reasons.  I don;t care about value of other players later.  This kid is going to be a beast and I am looking forward to seeing him in a Browns uniform.
