Re: 30 pack extended

4. Trent Richardson RB
We have our identity on offense.

22. Ryan Tannehill QB
This is obviously not going to happen, but I would be very excited.

31. (trade #37 & #67 for #31) Kendall Wright WR
had to trade up for Wright after he fell to the end of round #1. We got out triplets in this draft.

100. Levy Adcock OT Oklahoma State
Whew, got our RT even with trading our 3rd rounder.

118. Marvin Jones WR Cal
One of the few mid rounders that can play outside and inside. Really like Jones and Wright with Little.

132. Tank Carder LB TCU
Play specials early, can eventually start and replace Fujita.

164. AJ Jenkins WR Illinois
I know it isn't likely to take this many WR, but we should when there is value. We have so many picks, the more we can add to that position the better.

185. Coryell Judie CB Texas A&M.
Add depth to secondary and specials.

204. Ryan Steed CB Furman

205. Jacquise Smith DE Missouri

245.
247.

30 pack? This is a keg!

Good work SOBO, much appreciated!

There are two things here...

1. I obviously think Konz is only a step behind DeCastro. And if it wasn't for a dislocated ankle late in the season (which he's already overcome), then he'd be higher on most boards. He's started from his red freshman year. And he shown the ability to legitimate start at center AND guard.

2. It's also good to note the rising value of interior lineman. I've never been on positional value, but it's hard to deny in this case for a position you NEVER saw going in round 1 earlier in the decade. Centers and guards in rnd 1 were a rarity. And Konz is one of the best at both. It increases his value tremendously
That's great.  It doesn't answer the question, though. Being able to play both positions increases his value, sure.  It doesn't make him a better player, though.  I don't see him as being quite as good as Mack or Maurkice Pouncey.  He's definitely a first rounder.  Though he has the versatility to play both positions, he can only play one at a time, so I don't see why his value would be that much greater than either of theirs.  It just means that many more teams that might be willing to draft him, because they could be looking to fill any one of three spots.

+1 on Foles IMHO he is the perfect QB for the browns to develop great upside here with him I though he could slide into the 4th round and we could grab him there.
brownwarrior wrote: Wow, great stuff, Brent. I like the respect for Nick Foles. Honestly, when the BS dust clears, he does go early round 3, I think, and represents a lot of upside to somebody.

Goes without saying that I disagree on Tannehill, but I'll say it anyway (!). It's just a rare and complete package. If more guys came out who were 6'5", ran a legit 4.6, made every NFL throw with ease, and were finalists for the Academic Heisman? Fewer teams would have QB problems.

Interesting you have Givens rated so low. I have him about 50-60 spots higher. Although living down here in NC I saw a lot of him, so I could have the rose-colored glasses on.

What was it that turned you off about him? I think the one thing I noticed of concern was the balance. He doesn't catch the ball effortlessly. I tend to think that can be corrected with mechanics and repetitions. Your thoughts?

Thanks, as always, for your work, Sobo.  I have a few questions.

I notice that you have Floyd at 6 and Jenkins at 13, which would probably make sense due to their talent, but wouldn't character concerns knock them down several notches, like Coples has been?  Given that I got criticized for suggesting that the Browns take him with their second 4th round pick, Charles at 70 could fit within that question too.

Why is Martin rated #10?  That is even 4 positions above Decastro (perhaps because Decastro is a guard). In that case, the Browns wouldn't have a prayer of getting him with their pick at 22.  It looks like you believe that taking Glenn at 22 would be a reach.

Why is Ingram only rated #20?  I have seen even seen him projected to go to Jacksonville at #7.

I didn't directly compare them at this juncture because Konz's ranking a little higher (and I had both of them right at 18-20 or so) is also due to the glut of same level talents in this class. I think Mack and Pouncey were the two best all around C's to come out in years. But neither were as powerful at the point of attack or as polished as Konz coming out. Then you add that versatility. I'm not claiming that Konz has as much side as either, my point is that he's still a top talent in this class as a result.

Receivers in this draft, much like LB's earlier a lot comes down to preference. Not to mention this class is loaded with WR talent throughout. So it comes down where you think they're best slotted based on what you like and how you project them. For example, someone like Joe Adams I think can be an elite slot WR. Hence why I kept him as high as I did. Givens I think doesn't have as much potential outside as Adams does inside. And you weight these sort of things in the grand scheme of things.

Almost all of my rankins are based primarily on what I saw watching the kids play. You'll see slight adjustments due to workouts, injury, and off the field. But I'm not privy to all of that in depth information. So I rate them primarily on what I see. I believe Floyd is a top ten talent. I believe Jenkins has top ten talent as well. The only reason Orson Charles got knocked a bit is because he was dumb enough to get in trouble right before the combine and whatnot.

But someone like Coples for example, his problems can be seen on film. I can't stand prospect without a motor. And I'm usually pretty harsh on my ratings as a example. I have a tough time considering Coples in the top 20 because of it.

Otherwise, teams needs to internally answer these questions about some of these kids. I'm not in a position to make those decisions. So I base it on what I can see.

As for Martin, I've liked him all year. I think he's a little better athlete than he's given credit. He is a good technician. He's also a solid run blocker. And I'm also not as pie in the sky for DeCastro. Although I think both will be very good pros.

But in all honesty those guys from about 6 to 20 are all about the same to me, just jumbled in different ways.

Oh, and Ingram? I clearly stated during the season I worried about his struggles to disengage from blocks. And then I saw the arm length and it scared the daylights out of me.

SOBO, you have Rueben Randle much higher than I have seen in other mock drafts/rankings on the web.  What attributes do you like about him - do you think he is a good fit for the WCO?  A possible 2nd round pick for the Browns?

I like his size. But more importantly he's one of the bigger wide receivers that actually has a legitimate initial burst off the LOS. The combination is a perfect fit for a team like Cleveland to run him opposite Little.

Yeah. I'll prob. finish with a round 300-350 a little before a week out. Just need to find the time.

I have him mid second round range. I don't deny his age and it is a factor. But I'm entirely comfortable with him late 1st/early second, because I know he has the talent.

And yes I do believe he'd be higher ranked than Tannehill if he was the same age.
