No trade possibilities

No trade possibilities

Okay, I had posted to Sobo about trading down and he was negative about the possibility of it happening.  I have been running it through my head, and is this the general sentiment of those who don't think a trade down will happen.  Worst case scenario for the Rams is when they are on the clock at 6 is Kalil, Blackmon, and Richardson are off the board and Claiborne still on the board. While its not an huge need for them he's the best defensive player in the draft. With the two early second round picks they posess if they want to move back up into the late first and get a WR that slipped they very well could.

If the Rams are confident and decide to stay @ 6, and Heckert has already said he'd like to stay in the top 8, the only other legitimate suitor is Miami (since Jax is not looking to move up), but why would they move all the way up to 4 to take Tannehill when the Browns are the only other concern. If they do move up it will be to 3.

Hope I didn't miss this in any other thread.

Doerschuk mentioned a possible trade down scenario earlier today.  It's being discussed here.  http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=149&f=1547& t=8864394

Re: No trade possibilities

Blackmon will be there at 6 if the Rams want him. They won't be offering a 2nd to move up, second round draft picks are way too valuable and Blackmon isn't an elite receiver. A 2nd tier guy, like McShay called him - is pretty accurate.

I don't see us or Tampa Bay taking him over Richardson or Claiborne. I don't see the Vikings taking Claiborne over Kalil.

People will run this through their heads 90 ways til Sunday trying to think of a way that we can trade down a couple of spots, secure an extra 2nd round pick (or some really ridiculous ones have us acquiring two) and still end up with one of the half dozen blue chippers. It's either that or think about Kate Upton in a bikini  - two nice fantasies that don't stand a snowballs chance in hell of happening in real life.  noidea

Rams have already stated that they (like us) are much more desirous of trading down than up. I think Kalil is the only guy they would consider doing it for. Still don't think they'd offer one of their high second rounders.

I get a laugh out of the guys that think we'd be screwing the Rams by not trading with them to let them take Blackmon. Hell, we'd be screwing them BY trading with them because he's gonna be there at 6 anyways - in my estimation. And most likely in their estimation too.

Thanks for the link Cooper, I hadn't read that or heard anything about Jacksonville moving up until now. It would make sense for them with the tension between the new ownership and the general manager. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gene Smith make a bold move in the draft since his back is against the wall and he really has nothing to lose.

Jacksonville would be the best trade scenario. That way CLE can just get whoever is left out of Richardson, Claiborne, Blackmon, and Tannehill/Floyd.

Jacksonville is the only option, IMO.
