MetabolicOrange wrote: Of course we are still doing this.  Rosters are due before the first preseason game, August 5th at 8 PM.  We are selecting players based on the Browns original draft positions from each round... On or after 4, 37, 67, 100, 139, 175, 211 and UDFA...

P.S. that screws us all out of drafting Richardson...  and that sucks since he will be OROY....
MO, a question on this.  I don't remember the bolded/large fonted stuff in last year's picks, so I'm a but noideawhen it comes to this new detail.

Based on this rule, does that mean that our first round selection can't be Luck, RG3, or T-Rich?
Second round cannot be the guys drafted #33, 34, 35, and 36?
Third round excluding #64, 65, and 66?
....and so on?

Yeah, I thought it was just best first round pick, best second, best third, etc....

That's why I have you guys around.  It is in the original Acumen that I participate in, that we use the Browns position and that is a rule that I eliminated for us.  Thank you for pointing this out.  I guess it's no secret who my 1st rounder will be...

Re: Draft Acumen Contest - Open Enrollment - Serious Mockers

I'd still go Trent this year.  QB be darned, we can act like I took Cam last year.  I should do okay with just those 2 guys, right?  LOL!

Seriously, would have loved to get on something like this at jump street.  To bad there is no way to calculate OL, because this makes it much more Fantasy and a tad less Draft Acumen, but really what can you do about that?

Looks like a great set up, and if one is done in the future I'd love to throw my Ante in and play a nice 5 year hand.  :D

No sweat MO.  Taking away RG3/Luck/T-Rich would have been a good challenge, but now we all have to really put our thinking caps to debate among those three.

Still pretty laughable that nobody took Cam last year, thus the pretty close point totals.

I'm fairly certain the 1st round picks are going to be the top three picks, and maybe Blackmon, this year.....just a guess.

I've got a pretty decent idea of my first few guys; gotta keep my eyes/ears out for UDFAs the next few weeks. I have zero clue about them this year....

No punters or kickers and only 3 UDFA so we will eliminate Butler...

RE: Draft Acumen Contest - Open Enrollment - Serious Mockers onl

Okay, I'll take a stab at this moving forward then. Hopefully we'll do another that I can catch from the start.

1. Trent Richardson RB Browns.
2. Courtney Upshaw DE Ravens.
3. Russell Wilson QB Seahawks.
4. Joe Adams WR Panthers.
5. Josh Norman DB Panthers.
6. Billy Winn DT Browns.
7. Brad Smelley WR Browns.
UDFA 1. Josh Cooper WR Browns.
UDFA 2. Marquis Maze WR Steelers.
UDFA 3. Derek Carrier TE Raiders.

So thus begins my Roster. :D Not trying to be a Brown's Homer, just felt we really got some late round Steals. There were some DE's in the 7th that graded in the 70's and went to good Pass Rushing Teams (Giants, 49ers) but I didn't have a TE and I feel Smelley will score TD's. Found a gem (I believe) in Derek Carrier, a Basketball Player who also played Football. BBall to TE seems to work really well in the NFL, and this kid isn't switching to a new position. He's been playing both sports at a tiny college (Beloit) so he should at least know what being a TE is about as he tries to crack that Oakland Roster. Mr. Maze is one I am hoping makes the Steelers due to his versatile nature, as he can DB and he can Return. I'm bound to get some kind of Production out of him. Now, time to go to the front of this thread and find out why I just picked 10 guys. LOL! :D
