Re: Effect of Suggs' injury

Re: Effect of Suggs' injury

Yea, it's a big loss for them.  I'd just as soon the Browns improve rather than benefit by default from opponent injuries.  This may be the Ravens last serious year to contend before Lewis and Reed fall off.  Oh well...

Actually Hillis combined for over 250 yards rushing in two of his four games against the Ravens, so it's not like they were impenetrable even with Suggs.

I'd just like to see Ray come in on a delayed blitz and be met by Richardson.

Ray is bigger than Richardson. I'd rather see Ray come on a delayed blitz and Weeden dump the ball out to TR in the flat and have him go 50 yards with it while Ray is stuck holding his dick in the backfield because the rules say he can't even touch Weeden.

Ray Lewis has battled age well but it can't go on much longer. I believe the loss of some of the players around him will make it that much tougher.

PR:

Ray is bigger than Richardson.

AA:

Yea, and Shawne Merriman was bigger than Jones-Drew, but that didn't stop (some people call me) Maurice from blowing him up.

AA:

Sure, and that will be one of Richardson's strengths:  if you need him to block, he'll do it well.  If you need him to grab the outlet pass and turn a 5 yarder into a 50 yarder, he'll deliver the goods.

But I think if the situation dictates it, Ray will not find the road as easy as it was when others were in the backfield.

The Stools and bRats are not afraid of the Browns, but a few players give them fits....

Steelers have always gotten nervous when dealing with Cribbs and Harrison can't get his vs. #73.
With the Ravens, it was Hillis and Mike Adams--I remember Flacco had a few bad outings vs. the Browns pass D, but the team's D bailed them out.
Bengals WRs have struggled vs the Cleveland secondary, even dating back to the #85 days with Palmer/Ocho. Remember Leigh Bodden?

Jarrett Johnson, I've always believed, was the key to that D, NOT Suggs. Him and Ngata. Suggs is their #56 LT, but he wouldn't be as good w/o his other LBs.
