Re: Mike Holmgren and I are getting communication lines started

keo,

For example, one letter was for a function in Youngstown where Par Shurmur is the keynote speaker.  I believe they will have some current and past players there as well.

an excerpt from the letter:
In the coming weeks, our representatives will be reaching out to you so that we might introduce ourselves.  We appreciate you taking the time in getting to know us.  Perhaps there is something we can learn about our collective business goals and objectives and create a game plan foe how we can help each other.

The team has joined chambers throughout Ohio as a part of this marketing campaign.  I'm not sure if they were members previously, but don't believe so.  This leads one to think that they may have a fear of losing an always faithful paying fanbase.

BTW, the event in Youngstown is May 18 at Mr Anthony's.  The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber has details.

-- Well, I guess "shielded" is too strong a word. I would just think that, while public relations is of course part of the job, the important part is building a winning team. And anything that takes time away can be seen as a hassle- if you're a cynical, non-energetic type like me.

That's the only reason I'm not coaching the Browns. Randy wanted me, I said no. My lack of real football knowledge wasn't a problem for him.

I would think Holmgren is pretty good at making connections.

-- Thanks for the info. Sounds like fun, actually. The Browns need to have a bigger Northern California presence. We have the Bay Area Browns Backers in the house. But is that really enough?

-- Browns backers are beyond reproach. Uh, as long as they aren't polluted by a Dodgers affiliation.
