RE: 10 on Sunday AD
BRX:
I really don't not, no matter the scenario, that we really take Kalil and put him at RT. I do agree that we weren't sold on Blackmon or Tannehill and that we were drumming up support to get a good deal out of them if Trent got took before we could take him, sewing together a golden parachute if we had to fall down the Draft.
AA:
Agree. I initially thought the club was NOT sold on either TR, Blackmon OR Claiborne at 4, and saw them as maybe values 6-12. But it turned out they thought TR was worth top 3 material.
I don't doubt that Kalil couldn't play RT. Most any LT could. But it just would be gross overkill for the position, and certainly Kalil would not be enamored of the idea unless he thought Joe Thomas was retiring in two years, which he isn't.
BRX:
I don't think anyone in the NFL would think the Brown's would select Kalil. I do think the Vikings would fear the Browns would move out of the #4 for a team that wanted Kalil, if Trent was taken at #3. I do believe that is why we got the deal for so cheap, Draft Chart Value-wise... and I still feel Tampa had an offer and actually offered more Value, they just couldn't secure Kalil for Minnesota so we won the trade.
AA:
Yep. The Vikes couldn't afford to get too cute with this. I'd be curious what the Browns could have fetched in a trade down, but when all is said and done, it's good to have a bonafide stud enter the picture rather than a whole lotta ok prospects.
