I wanted to know a little better who was really who, how'd they do against who.....it did make it more fun, but ultimately I'm left with a slightly bitter taste in my mouth becuase I realize that the permutations are endless, the draft-day variables countless, and the frustration level can be high, but mostly inevitable as each one of us develops a personal list of favorites and those lists cannot be fulfilled.
Now combine that with the eternal sell job that NFL network does on player after player for literally the two months leading up to the draft and it can make you crazy. How hilarious was it that every receiver ALL OF US
coveted @ #22 or #37 were there (Hill/Randle/Jeffery) and not taken. Instead, a very solid RT was taken, and hey I get it, makes sense.....no it wasn't Glenn or Martin or Adams all more highly discussed and "rated" by analysts than Schwartz, and you know what, after reading up on him he seems like a great choice. We go out and get an RB and a QB and damn we better make damn sure we protect them both, maximize their chance for success.
And then this guy Hughes - on nobody's anything, and we don't use our #67 but trade down twenty spots...hmmm
But you get to thinking about ability to stop the run, depth at DL, the guys stats are very strong in that area, and playing in Ohio I imagine he's been well-scouted (shoot look at Denver taking his teammate with their #2).
So, what's my point? If I was drafting I'd have take TR then Weeden @ #22 then Jeffery @ #37 then a package to re-enter round #2 to grab the best RT possibe.. My draft a more"hood ornament" driven draft...and the guys in Cleveland are busy drafting shocks and bumpers and tires - but ain't that what a car needs to drive? We all like shiny objects a little too much.............

But didn't you waste the winter convincing us we didn't need a QB just more weapons for Colt , when we tried to tell you Colt was the problem.
Tannehill was a higher r rated QB than Weeden and younger and trained in the WCO , but Weeden is thought to be more ready to start now due to his experience , something I concur with , but still say is a short sided view when you willingly give up 7 years of prime play on a career for immediate improvement now. .
Since this FO has advocated the slow and patient approach throughout their reign where you had to pass a mirror under their mouth to see if they were breathing , when they didn't let the draft come to them , as they claimed they would do , and aggressively used 5 picks on two men and picked a QB rated as a second round prospect in the middle of the first , one must ask why the sudden abrupt change .
The Honeymoon is over in Berea , and these F U c ks are on the clock having sat on their azz so long they're forced to make panic moves to produce.
You can't ignore free agency three years in a row in todays game and put all your chips on the draft and not be in the pitiful position they're in now .
Finally and thankfully they ended the experiment with that Texas calf humper with a girls arm and got a man to man the helm .
The team has to gel at the same time around the QB , Colt flunking the grade retarded the team growth and stifled the offense , giving him the keys wasted a year and caused the panic this year especially after they screwed up a done deal on RG3 and missed one of the most dynamic talents this decade .
Yeah gary that was real smart , musta been the water that lowered their IQ,
to blow a deal one of yur kids coulda closed , or they were never all in , like today ,before Lerner read
them f u c ks the riot act .
Course we know Lerner is humble and lovable and couldn't have been anything like that.
