He went to Navy.  For the free education he had a service committment (4 YEARS) . Dallas drafted him anyway in 64 and waited. Started his career with the Cowboys in 69.

Those were the days when men honored their obligations.  Soon, early outs were granted to exceptional athletes.  Robinson?  Roger was spoken of as someone who had the opportunity to test those waters.  Didn't.
