Re: All In
"Could you imagine had he faced a legit College Defense? And THAT is where the worry comes in."
-- Okay, this can aways be argued and looked at.
But I kind of bet that team player evaluators take anything they see in college and apply whatever grains of salt their experience thinks is applicable.
The fact that college- any college, but some more than others- isn't the NFL is not a secret.
Which- as we know- doesn't mean mistakes can't be made. Sometimes lots of mistakes are made.
Off the top of what's left of my head: Akili Smith and Ryan Leaf were high first rounders. Brady was a 6th rounder. Arian Foster not drafted at all. The list goes on.
I get that you are looking at Weeden especially. I guess I'm just saying the obvious that evaluators take college info and apply certain tests to it and that at this point we don't really know how these guys will do in the NFL.
Weeden's college performance can be used positively or negatively, but what he does from now on is what matters.
So... wait for it.... drum roll... significant pause... sincere depth to my writing... we'll see.
Which sucks at this point for a forum. We can say the draft was smart or stoopid, but really... we'll see.
