RE: Why not drop back to 6?

It is widely thought that the Rams want Kalil to man the LT... the Franchise LT to go with the Franchise QB. Some even consider Blackmon the option, the Franchise WR to throw to.

Point is, it is very likely one of them will be there at #6, so what would they really give to move up 2 Spots and take the one they like the most? If we go Richardson or Claiborne they will, with out a doubt, get one of those two.

If we absolutely love on of the Big Three left, we should take them where we know we can... at #4. If we are a toss up with them, trade to 6 or 7 and take which ever one is left while netting some extra pick(s). As for Kalil... can't really take a RT at #4. I mean, no rule against it, but that is Franchise LT territory.

AA:

That's only true if the Browns regard whoever's left at #6 as equally regarded/needed as the one that gets picked at #4.

And IF that is true (the Browns regard those two prospects the same, but don't see either as being worth a top 5 pick), then the club has to consider whether another team has a huge need for one of those prospects, and is willing to trade up by offering even more than the Rams.  If  the trading partner wanted whoever the Rams took at #4, then the Browns missed out on a better trade down deal.
