Re: Pure Football QB prediction game/contest
" think we end up trading up for RGIII"
-- Could be. Could very well be.
"I'm not necessarily a fan of the move as I've let it be known I like the San Francisco model..."
-- What exactly is the "San Francisco model"? Go with the existing QB and go on to wonderful victory? I will say that Shurmur doesn't appear to be Harbaugh and the AFC North isn't the NFC West. And is Colt McCoy like Alex Smith? But I get the idea- if that's what it is- and can see spending your picks elsewhere.
But if it is determined by qualified minds that RG3 is The Guy, then I can also see going to get him. The QB is important and a rare guy needs to be grabbed if you can. (Such as Andrew Luck appears to be...)
What really scares me is the whole PR thing about a QB and letting that cloud judgments. Get the best player for your team and let winning be the best message to fans.
Don't let passionate opinions intimidate you or shape your mind. Screw PR or other teams or any pre-set ideas. Let football guys make football decisions. Money people should be just money people. And private jet Long Island dwellers and soccer team owners need not influence off-season moves.
Unless you're Randy Lerner, of course. All of his public statements are pure gold and should be respected...
