RE: Cheap Upgrade

VD:

Sure why not!

AA:

How many reasons do you need?

Too old.  At best he's a one year band aid.  Won't be around by the time the teams ascends.

No interest on his part.  He wants to play for a contender who needs a wr to put them over the top.

He's poison to a young team, especially a young qb.

He only strikes fear in an opponent when he feels like playing.  And he only feels like playing when he's catching the ball a lot or his team has a comfortable lead.

VD:

Bring in the talent, see if they fit, if they are serious to make a committment to your organization or not. If not you have lost little with these guys.

AA:

With that logic, why not save EVEN MORE time and NOT bring him in at all?

All that's lost is time spent with players who want to be in Cleveland.  And that adds up when your personnel mantra is to bring in anybody that you think looks good from a distance.

VD:

Belichick has make FIVE Super Bowl runs because he is simple and fair with just this type of player.

AA:

And he also has the creds to garner respect, though that didn't stop Ocho Cinco and Haynesworth from playing down to expectations.

VD:

This is football, not the Boy Scouts, not the Elks club.

AA:

And it's also not a Broadway show where we have to look at 43 applicants for the role of Annie, the little orphan girl.  Moss is also a diva who will choose where he wants to audition anyway, and it won't be in Cleveland.

VD:

Everyone hates James Harrison but they fear him.  I want more Browns that people fear for one reason or another, speed or pain delivery come to mind.

AA:

They'd have plenty to fear from Moss all right.    Oh, you mean the opposition?
