That's an easy assumption Nas and my first thought.
But, I'm sure the guy has been drunk before and kept from raging about an issue.

But  maybe he hasn't had much experience navigating the Twitter interface through the haze of a couple of bottles of red while trying to direct message someone.

"Anyone ele tink TG might have been drunk?"

-- That certainly is a possibility- maybe more because he's in the media in some people's minds...

It may have been an honest post about how he felt based on his experience, but it was clearly thoughtless. The PD is no doubt living in their regulations and probably trying to protect what they have left of their self-preservation.

At the end of the day, it's another media guy falling out in a falling out industry in many cases. So to that extent you can say he had it coming and not get too worked up about it. (I did like his seeming fondness of the Browns and his attack towards Art Modell.)  But he is an older media guy who did do something wrong in the electronic age that all could see.  So be it.

Putting Grossi aside, the Browns reaction to what he did does raise some questions. The post  Grossi wrote was about Lerner. The first thing to wonder about is what did he base the post on? Clearly Grossi knew the team and knew people around it- including Lerner. Is there a general feeling league-wide about Randy? Does it somehow effect the Browns? And what role did Randy have in all of this- either direct or indirect?

To say we don't know is probably true- but it doesn't qualm any questions about the owner's personality and judgement. I think they are valid and can have an impact down the road.

It wouldn't be as important if he didn't have some control over the Browns. But he does.

It's a data point regarding Lerner. File it away- along with any others you may have- and remember it.

Once again, the Browns aren't in the Super Bowl. The "reassignment"  probably wouldn't  have gotten as much attention if they were. The draft is coming up. That could be important. Just remember this event and keep it in the proper perspective.
