Clearly Lerner isn't afraid of using his power. I thought the media kind of frowned at things that inhibit free speech. I guess not- in this case.

He has money, he has position. I'm far away from these things, but let's hope the Browns are well led.

Any other feelings or thoughts aside, he's the owner of the Browns. Not that we needed to be reminded of that.

Grossi didn't get canned because of what he said about Lerner, so let's get that straight.

He has displayed a pattern of behavior that is inconsistent with how a professional journalist should conduct himself.

Grossi is an impolite lil prick.  He is mean spirited, unprofessional, and has not only gone after Lerner in amateur fashion, but has also embarassed the paper with the way he has handled many of the Browns staff in interviews, and has been called on the carpet at the PD for many of his biased agenda driven mud slinging articles, his witch hunts, and general lack of knowledge of the game, and poor research.

-- All of the above may be true. I'm willing to stipulate to it's veracity. But it still leaves the question as to how the Browns reacted to that particular thoughtless post and what it says about the team and people who run it. I think that's simply a valid question once you move past Grossi.

-- Or don't move past him.  Hey, he's in the media.  All you say about him may be true. But didn't he like the Browns at least? Doesn't his knowledge and experience mean anything?

But his "reassignment" is no doubt a good thing for the Browns organization it appears.

BTW- Given how Grossi and his post was "handled" by the PD, the Browns or a combination of those two, I guess I can see an indication as to why some of the media tends to side with the Lerners to a fault and be less ready to question their moves. Probably a smart thing, really. Having to pose as tough and honest at the same time would be a challenge it would seem.
