So he's an "elite" QB who can take Cinci to the Super Bowl?
Or a decent to maybe very good QB who can do some winning?
Right now, I'm all for a good to very good QB who can do some
winning (i.e. playoffs)............give me 3 of the top 35 picks in
2012. Give me a free agent at whatever position of need we don't
draft in the top 35 and OVERPAY FOR FLYNN, but retain
both first rounders.
OR, Get Flynn, have some one offer us picks
for our #4, and then pick something like 4 out of first
40 players in 2012 (i.e. lets say a #10 swaps with our
#4 plus gives us their #2)
I'll sleep well with that.
Gadfly, that may be the H&H plan. they do like draft picks and MH has a penchant for getting QBs who have gotten their feet wet with another team. Flynn in FA or Trade then trading down with our #4 pick is possible. I can see H&H doing this if they are comfortable with the QB spot prior to the draft. Our #4 could get more than our 6 did last year.
Lots of options this year. Going to be an interesting FA and draft.
SD:
If you secure Flynn sans any draft compensation and just cash , i have no problem advocating dealing out of the four spot , so long as we stay in this years draft , I would move down a spot or two to secure an extra second rounder so far as doing so still nets me a Richardson Blackmon or Coples type top ten pick .
I would not do what we did last year and trade completely out of the top ten .
However part of me ,even with Flynn under contract would still investigate if I could net RG3 before I traded out , I'm still cognizant of passing on Rottenberger just because we signed Jeff garcia and how that turned out.
