Re: Haslam returns to Pilot the Truck Stops

Who knew who Jimmy Haslam was before he bought the Browns? Just some rich guy with a bunch of truck stops. Goes to a party and hears corn dog jokes as his back turns. Now he's a member of a very exclusive club. Who would you rather talk to, an NFL owner or the governor?

Randy owned two teams, one successful, one not. After awhile he starts hearing jokes about the one that's not. He's seen as a success on one side of the Atlantic, and a boob on the other. He grasps at quick fixes but doesn't get lucky. He sees an opportunity to divest himself of something that's made him a public mockery and takes it.

Now it's Jimmy's turn. Will his first hire be lucky or not? If he stays out of the way it's Savage vs Banner. I like Banner's chances there. He says he's not staying out of the way. Could be good or bad. If he breezes in from the truck stop to trump the scout's board and pick the guy he heard on the radio was pretty good he's gonna need some luck. If he just comes in to observe and see if Banner or Lombardi stacks the board or goes off it then he'll know who to can if they pick wrong. This thing doesn't turn around pretty quick he'll dump it. An NFL franchise is a can't miss investment but Jimmy's so rich that doesn't really matter. It's about his image.
