Skip over the bright shiney media ready QB controversy and pay attention:

“They’re studying,” Haslam said. “I think we have a pretty good feel for what our needs are. They’re going to look at free agency, and they’re going to look at the draft. I think we’ll be selective in what we do in free agency, but if there’s some talent out there that matches our needs and it’s at the right dollar level, then I think we’ll probably make some moves. I don’t think you’ll see us make any big, splashy, high-priced moves because I think we’ve said all along we’re going to build through the draft.”

"Greet the new boss. same as the old Boss."
The primary difference between Randy and Jimmy to this point, is Haslam is telling us what the team FA philosophy will be and Randy was typically pretty silent about it.

We have no evidence that Randy ever imposed any kind of spending philosophy on the FO, while here we have Haslam giving us a virtual paper trail. It is possible Haslam is all gung ho about FA, but has been talked off the diving board by Banner.

We also know Haslam just spent at least three months lying to the fans, so he could be lying again. We'll have to wait and see.

Finally, a "value" pickup does not preclude a high dollar FA.

Randy's dictate team  spending must be revenue neutral, means what?

Any evidence Randy said to spend whatever is necessary to bring a winner? Mom and sis and I want the fans to have a winner.

Ur missing the point based on fighting last year's war.

F Randy. F it all.

The salient point is that Trey says he's going to aquiesce to a FO that is "building through the draft". We ALL know what that means. If you need me to break it down for you, which I doubt, I will. Drop the weirgeld (sp?) with the android and RECOGNIZE!

SSDD.

Another 5 year plan with a bright shiney BS vaneer. At least jammies didn't have no veneer.

Whether you suck with apathy than suck while being lied to you still suck through a rebuild.

Afraid you are right. This year may be an anomaly. With mandatory spending,  there may  e a splurge in spending akin to that when Al received his check out notice. I dont know how any F A spending or Trade induced spending this spring will be a predictor of future spending or team plan.

This could be all blather. For even if we sign a couple of high profile, make a splash signees, does it mean anything going forward?

I want to see how it plays out.  Imo Haslam is just talking.  Saying nothing.

Did you think Haslam brought Banner along with him to ignore him? Of course he's listening to his front office.  He would be an idiot if he didn't.

If what Haslam AND Banner have said is their true intent, this is Banner's philosophy in play. Exactly what moves they need to make is still being formulated.  I see no reason this can't be the truth, but then I saw no reason to go through the whole charade with Lombardi.

And, just because Haslam intends on this course of action doesn't mean he can stay the course. A bad year might have Jimmy breathing hard and changing course. We have to wait and see. Some will assume this to be true, but then they assumed Haslam would be spending big bucks...just because.

First shoe could drop as early as Thursday .

Vick will be released inliue of that 3 million in bonus , so we'll see if Hasban is enamored with shiny objects or they really want to give Weeds nightmares .

Personally I think Vick is toast like a punch drunk fighter , but that's me .

On Jimmy , don't look for a Mario Williams supersigning , but I'd be socked if they didn't raise the value of the roster on defense in particular from the simple ploy to fit Tuckers scheme .

Look for Norv to push for more TE talent , and fix that RG spot and look for Tucker to insist on front seven help and fixing that safety spot soon as they clean up the barf in the film room over seeing Usama whose not Bin Laden.

Tucker will mine the Cardinals and pilfer minimum , but you're correct , this will be an inbred tight fisted  free agency  not a Phil Savage shopping spree.

SD:

I saw that from lane , and for the life of me , can't understand why .

Norv used a smaller nimble center inbetween a line which would humble a small building .

The problem is both guard positions , as Mack is no slouch and bigger than Stepnowski who anchored one of the better lines in all of football .

Last thing we need is a butch Davis move to dump a center and add another center , for cap reasons repeating the make a hole fill a hole tread mill , we've been running non stop with every changeover since Dwight was told to take a hike.
