Re: Another Trey reset

I dont get how you can not be active in FA and spend 80% of your cap.. Right now we have close to 50 million we need to spend... How many mid level and lower level FA do you have to sign to fill that up?

So lets say we extend some people we still have to extend a LOT of people..

I don't get what they are saying.. make no damn sense and if they want to hit the cap its even more difficult..

I say grab

Goldson - FS
Andy Levitre - G
Fred Davis - TE (prove it deal)
S. Phillips - OLB ( i am betting he is the vet they bring in to teach the defense)
Brent Grimes - DB ( prove it deal)

These are value signings.. Davis if he comes back can be a all pro TE. Brent Grimes was a monster DB before the achilles Injury just need to see if he comes back. Levitre is a great upgrade at the Guard Position and Goldson is the big splash FA who just loves to hit and with Grimes and Haden and Ward make it one of the bests Secondaries on paper going into 2013. That is my wish list in FA leaving me with a lot of flexibility when it comes to the draft..

I know its a pipe dream but if i can get 2 people off that list then this team will be much better

Last reports are the Browns have around €45m available to spend.  $14-15m of that is carryover cap space from 2012.  I don't believe the carryover caps space falls in the 89% (seen vary reports of 89%-95%) of the cap that must be spent.

So in reality the Browns have $30m in 2013 cap space of which they must spend $26.7m. After paying for rookie contracts they'll have around $18m, which is still a significant sum to fill some holes.  That is the number I would expect them to spend, not $50m.  I believe Haslam when he says they won't take a deep dive into FA, they'll be active, as they have to be, but it won't be Dan Snyderesque.   I seriously doubt they go past the required spend, or use extra resources like cap space carried over.
