Re: OOOOOOP Thar it Is ................pt 2

I just don't know what to be concerned about more- Lombardi coming on-board or the decision-making 'process' which was used to bring him in.

I have never heard so many attempts to justify a hiring at a press conference as I did on this one. Lombardi even got down and groveled that he is a changed man!

Banner and Haslam made sure to tell us that there were 'many qualified people' who were extremely interested in this job. I'm glad they told me- I feel a lot better now (sarcasm).

Getting back to the 'process', it is extremely troublesome to think about this decision. If a person is so unpopular but extremely successful then you could argue for it. But when so much  objective data is against him, AND there is so much popular disdain, how can they still hire the guy? I remember reading that Haslam said that 'about 50% of the people wanted Lombardi"- which is total BS if you read any public forum. Not to mention the BS search which was already mentioned.

Credibility is obtained and kept by 2 factors: Winning and/or making moves which the majority of fans can have faith in that it will lead to winning. The FO just screwed up #2. If they don't come out the gate successfully, they are in serious territory.

I guess the main benefactor, if that happens, will be Chud. All criticisms will be directed towards Haslam/Banner.
