RE: Now, here's an idea that is certain to appeal to one and all

Well, when I first penned this thread, I was intoxicated with the vision of a grand, new forum, "Casa de Zero Si," where I would lead literary discussion groups, and also offer periodic lectures on various fascinating literary topics - for example, if you will, imagine the excitement on the board when everyone sees, say, a scheduled lecture on "The oc looks at the major tropes of  Elizabethan Drama!"

We'd probably have to borrow some chairs from the "Networking" forum!  God knows they don't need them! rolleyes

But instead, if you have not noticed, the thread because a carnival stage for various little self-styled internet jesters to offer truncated and ill-conceived drollery at the unsuspecting oc's expense.

I am very very very disappointed. . .

Pearls before swine, OC... pearls before swine.

But what's stopping you from actually doing the lecture series you mention?  Melfi seems to have either been one of her own patients or run off to some tropical island so I don't see anything stopping you except for your own indolence.

Well, I have done lecture series before, you do realize, as far back as my two and a half hour Power Point presentation "Alexander Pope: Poet for the Ages!" at one of the WRR Annual Christmas parties. Of course, my only audience was a bunch of Japanese waiters pretending that 1.) they weren't interested in either "Alexander Pope: The Early Years!" or "Alexander Pope: The Seminal Signs of Genius!" and 2.) that they didn't speak English, since none of you bastards didn't bother to even show up!!!!

I, for one, would like to see a lecture series on the life lessons espoused on the Andy Griffith Show -

Or perhaps something on the nuggets of wisdom that can be garnerd from the Beverly Hillbillies - - -

Ah, I see the problem - WRR - Waco RailRoad?  You must have zigged when you should have zagged and you ended up in the wrong party room!

A Texan with a bad sense of direction... now there's something new!  rolleyes
Have you checked your family background?  You might be related to Sam Houston... or his horse!

See OC... you already have zip as a "captive audience".  Are you taking requests for your lecture series?

If there isn't, there should be!

But why would you want to participate?  Are there any buildings over two stories in Presidio?

well, no, actually there are not. . .

Presidio is somewhat preternatural, almost to the point of being surreal - kinda like the oc!

Poets are crazy according the the BBC.

Most of us knew this intuitively, of course, but it's nice to have confirmation.

I'm guessing the OC is more comfortable with the goings on in Green Acres. He has his own pig like the Ziffels and Presidio is probably a lot like Hooterville.

Hooterville is a bustling metropolis compared to Presidio!  eek
