Because although he had what sounds like a better pro day than either Griffin or Luck, the media's agenda is to pump up Griffin and Luck, not Ryan. Just like when Rottonburger was ignored by the media. Funny, I think Luck had a worse pro day but the media excused it because there was a breeze in the air. I think Griffin did worse as far as completions, but with Tanny we get the disclaimer that he was throwing against air, not dbs. Funny, that disclaimer was missing from Griffin's overhyped, albeit lesser workout, when the media was going just crazy and doing cartwheels.

Something tells me Tanny will start getting love and hype if for no other reason than Griffin and Luck are hyped-out and there really is no new news about them. I hope the media starts their Tanny frenzy so as to drive up the price to trade to #4.

This could get interesting for the Browns....and how ironic would it be if Tanny becomes the best qb of the three?

I'm so pumped we're going to get a competent quarterback this year. To be able to add this kid plus a Lamar Miller or Ashon Jeffery with the #22 and #37 picks would set this franchise up with success for many years to come.

Please, enough of the Colt stuff. If you haven't gotten the clue the Browns don't like him going forward, how more quarterbacks do you need them to be linked to?

Hey I was never a Luck guy. He's much more hyped than Griffin or Tannehill could ever be.

We missed on Griffin but I'll take Tanny plus keep out picks. That's an organizational move I can get down with.

Re: Ryan Tannehill Pro Day

IMO, the questions about Tannehill cannot be answered in a pro day setting.  Nobody questions his size, arm strength, or athleticism.  His issues are that he's got limited experience (tape) as a college QB and, IMhO, some questionable decision-making on the field, not off.  He started 13 games this season and threw 3 interceptions in 3 of them and more interceptions than touchdowns in 4.  That's teetering on Derek Anderson territory.  The only way to work through those issues is to sit down with the guy and go over his tape with him (as Gruden does for the TV show every year) and see what he says about what he was seeing and thinking as plays developed.  That won't happen at pro day, but it will happen when he comes to Cleveland for his visit.

BTW: If he's everything people are starting to say about him, he won't be there for us at 4.  Miami had everybody there at his pro day and they have his former HC as their OC.  They will trade up to 3 to get him, is my guess.

Miami is going to trade two #1s and a 2nd to jump 6 spots now? Because that's the asking price after the Washington/STL deal.

That's my thinking (said so a month ago).

His INTs look correctable, with experience. It's up to the Browns to determine how well he can take to that.

Can someone please explain this one to me?  Why in the hell would you not stick around an extra hour or two to take a look at some of the other draft eligible talent from one of the best college football programs in the country?

What is the possible harm in doing so?  You've already made the trip down there.
They have this thing called "game tape" and another thing called the "combine". There's also something called "speaking with the coaching staff."

It's entirely possible they know everything they need to know about those guys from the many, many sources they have available to them, so watching them run in shorts one more time isn't going to change anything. Frankly, I'd be more worried if they based their decision on watching them run in shorts today. TR didn't participate in drills prior, so it makes more sense to watch him closely.

That may be the asking price, but unless Minny gets another team in on the bidding they won't get that price.  St. Louis had at least Cleveland and Washington bidding (and maybe Miami and Seattle).  Washington is out now, so is Seattle.  Cleveland's not going to give up much to move up one spot.  That leaves Miami or - nothing.  They'll overpay because it's a QB and they will be worried about us taking him; but nothing outrageous like the other deal.

The wheels are turning. Browns have yet another shot to add a franchise guy.

I doubt even they could screw this up...

We don't know what we are going to get because we don't know what Heckert is thinking. He could go in any number of directions and we don't have a clue which. Though he may frustrate me on occasion you have to say the man knows how to run his business.

Re: Ryan Tannehill Pro Day

Tannehill is a real good fit for us playing in the AFC North He is athletic, tall, strong arm, has a quick release and accurate. I'd take him with out looking back. He can sit for a little bit behind Colt until he catches up learning the WCO.

The Browns are finally going to be winners! Because of what us Browns fans been through the last 13 seasons of losing, We will become more appreciative of a winning team.
New Ownership the beginning of a ERA of winning football in Cleveland!

These workouts are all a dog and pony show, everybody does well at them. Getting worked up over them is just stupid.

We'll never see the stuff that really matters, which are the interviews in the film room and the private workouts where the coaches tell these guys what to do.

And yet another prognosticator who says we should take a QB.

Why don't Browns fans see we suck at QB and it doesn't matter what position you draft when you have a bad quarterback, you will continue to suck?

Back up the truck a bit on Tannehill the franchise qb.  Where do you put him if Barkley came out?  Behind him, correct?  So you are saying this could of  been the year of all years for franchise qb's - Luck, Griffin, Barkley, Tannehill.  Seriously?

Tannehill compares to Jake Locker - 1st round pick who is still not considered a starter going into his 2nd year.

55 years of watching Browns football - 31 of them from the front row of the Pound.
