I think it has something to do with the time of year and lack of general football news. This place not the same place it used to be also.

The Madden mentality/culture is now evident. People make decisions based on personal feelings without experience or understanding. I, like some here, would regard what was posted as given some thought without this "want to win now mentality"! Let's face it, we are not a very good team and haven't been one for the past few years. To correct this will not be an easy task and will take time. We need a stable FO and coaching staff before we can become a competitive team. We just can't be changing the FO and coaching staff every two to three years and expect to be competitive. The players have to have faith in their coaches and the system. Without that, we will only be a tune up team for others on their way to the playoffs. Let's hope we have the right team in place off and on the field. Go BROWN'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bobob I think you have the best explanation I've seen yet. The place is loaded with Madden General Managers and Internet Guru's who think they can do better than people who do the job for a living.
But instead of using their heads they post garbage and claim it as fact and then get pissed off when asked to defend their stance.

There seem to be more idiotic posters and debates that make no sense, I think the better posters of the past are going on different boards. I'm a creature of habit so I'm still here. For what ever that's worth.

Its really been the last couple years. Maybe since 2009 that it has gotten awful. And the split just made it unbearable. Not too mention that even some of the long time bad posters but really high post counts got banned and it just went to s*it.
On any given day there are like 10 posters at least that I seriously wonder if they are running a sports talk radio show with such ridiculous commentary.

I think the quality of posts (poster) is directly proportional to the quality of the team. What have we seen to bring out the passion, enthusiasm, in even the casual fan. If this team were a perennial contender playing quality, entertaining football, I think the quality of posts would rise proportionately the the excellence of the team. The team has half a**ed it for over 10 years, I think its finally rubbing off on the fans.

Maybe there's a logic to this after all.
This year is the first year in awhile that the Buckeyes haven't been good, or had much value in the draft. Perhaps folks are just going a little crazy.

I've been here for around 11 years & consider myself more objective because I just mainly read threads & it has definately gotten worse, especially over the past 2-3 years.
The one on one battles that quote each other over & over ruin threads & they are usually the volume posters that have an opinion in EVERY thread. I seldom read a full thread now & routinely skip over certain names.
Even Pure Football has gotten worse due to one or two guys over there.
As stated. it is what it is , so no complaints from me. I've just changed the amount of time I spend here & scan titles more for new info than to read full threads.
I think splitting OBR football away from the Watercooler hurt too......... there weren't as many repetitive threads as there are now & the OTopics made things more interesting at times.
