2014 Fall Practice Thread

It's that time again. Tweets, pictures, videos (if any surface), and anything else related can be posted in here. I'll be posting a depth chart soon (probably tomorrow), which will continuously change as news flows in.

@OU_Football: #Sooners report today. Team meeting this afternoon.

TFB: Joe Mixon has been working out the past couple days and is expected to check in with the rest of the team today.

Any news on the DGB waiver. Obviously no decision but has it been submitted? Where does it go? Timeline?

I know Jalen's was into the season but a little different there.

Last I read was it was still being processed. No timetable, from what I understand. Decision could be today, next week, three weeks from now.

Re: 2014 Fall Practice Thread

QB: Knight, Thomas, Hansen
RB: Ford, Ross, Perine
FB: Ripkowski, Flowers,
WR: Shephard, Young, Bennett
WR: Neal, Smallwood, Todd
WR: Woods, Quick, Andrews
TE: Bell, Mcnamara, Ijalana
RT: Williams, Farniok, Damlier
RG: Kasatati, Feo, Evans
C: Darlington, Alverez, Dalton
LG: Savage, Shead, Evans
LT: Thompson, St. John, Grant

Defense

DE: Tapper, Walker, Onuahu
DT: Phillips, Romar, Wade
DE: Ndule, Dimon, Ward
OLB: Grissom, Obo, Lindley
MLB: Shannon, J. Evans, Bolton
MLB: Alexander, J. Evans, Franklin
OLB: Striker, Bond, Obo
NB: Wilson, A. Thomas, Parker
CB: Sanchez, Taylor, Windham
CB: Austin, Wilson, Johnson
FS: Byrd, Thomas, Lagrone
SS: Hayes, Parker, Green

PR: Shephard, Quick
KR: Ross/Brooks, Quick/Woods

Here is my pre-fall depth chart. I think it's fairly accurate as I think Wilson still has to take the corner spot from Austin since he had the lead this spring. Should be fun to watch shake out.

Geneo Grissom '14
16 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1 Sack, 1 INT, 1 FF, 1 TD, 3 PBU

Pretty accurate - and I agree on Woods.

I am also amazed that a kid could move from QB to starting TE at a d1 school in one year.

Strong. I'd make a few changes, but that's about it.

Re: 2014 Fall Practice Thread

Wade ahead of Romar for sure
Probaby Shead ahead of Savage if completely heathy although that could go either way.
Smallwood over Neal by early in the season
Parker to start by the end of the year.
And Rip might be the starter but Flowers will be getting more playing time.

DO you know it its just a paper type appeal or do lawyers appeal the case at a hearing?

I'm not sure, but I've never heard of lawyers having to be involved. The last I read was Oklahoma was still putting together his waiver. That was three or four days ago. Not sure how long that takes or if it's done.

Re: 2014 Fall Practice Thread

Romar started the spring game ahead of Wade, Montgomery said he had the better spring, and "insiders" have been saying that he's ahead of Wade.

Also remember, this isn't a "how I see things ending up depth chart" This is how things are looking the day before camp starts. Wilson hasn't played a real practice snap since the sugar bowl, so I'm not putting him as the starter above Austin right now cause Austin came out of spring the starter.

Re: 2014 Fall Practice Thread

All I can say to that is if Romar is ahead of Wade on the depth chart then we have a REALLY good player in Romar.
Ive heard good things about him as well but to beat out a quality incumbant is not an easy task.

I remember this. When Romar took the field, my eyebrows were raised.

The Football Brainiacs: - UPDATE (10 : 49 am): Checked in with a source on whether Joe Mixon was expected to report with the rest of the team today. Our source let us know that Joe has been working out the past couple days and is indeed expected to check in with the rest of the team. We’ll try to confirm that comes to fruition later today.
