Long time until signing day 2016.  Have to stay on him.

Sumlin's ability to sell is amazing.
Will be interesting to see the results on the field this year.

You'd think at some point they'd lose an offensive tackle commit or two. You can't sell them all on being "the next Joeckel or Matthews" some of them will either have to move to guard or go elsewhere.

Lodge yesterday and Little today. Wow. Landing Kyler was a major part of this.

Ekalika, this year is projected to be another 8-4 year by most people I talk to. 2015 is the make or break. If we dont do much that year, then recruiting will slow down. We have one OL spot left which we are hoping to fill with Wariboko, Weathersby, or a late bloomer. With Joeckel, Matthews, and Ogbuehi (from Allen) projected as a first rounder, its a lot to get into an OL ear. I think the sell is a combination of Sumlin and staff, facilities upgrades, and the SEC.

By the way things are looking, after 2015's NFL Draft they will have had three OTs go in the first round if Cedric Ogbuehi excels at LT next season.

It's weird. OU is very strong themselves at developing OTs with T. Williams, Stephenson, Johnson, and the expected draftees D. Williams and Thompson in 2015. But, it's a struggle to land OTs in Norman.

whatever is left after aTm, Texas, Baylor finish recruiting will then be available for the rest of the Little 12-2........the "elite" guys aren't getting north of Wacco and, generally, no further north than college station......apparantly winning major bowl games doesn't mean much anymore...........

Sumlin has been stockpiling elite talent, no doubt about it. If the defense is fixed, watch out.

Stockpiling talent and wasting it in a craphole conference that requires 100's of millions of dollars of never ending brain-washing just to get people to watch the games. Kind of reminds me of the black hole that was in Asstinbiggrin

That just sounds like being a poor loser for the recruit in this case. Trust me if he had committed to OU, everyone would be raving about his stars and how he is the #1 recruit in the land. If we hadn't offered or weren't interested I might buy it, but the kid is obviously a talent and is #1 as of right now for a reason.

Yep - 2014 might be a down year for TAMU but you have to build talent.  There are 2 QBs how are top in the nation which equals wins in college and all the added benefit is cake.

So....in 2016 it will be 3 years of top 10 classes = national title contenders or Sumlin can't produce.  I'd take the  roster full of 4-5*

Recruiting is a different game now. $$$$$$ are flying around like crazy. The NCAA has turned a blind eye to buying players and now the kids are shopping. Everyone close to recruiting knows it.

Re: 2016 #1 recruit to a$m

He is definitely NOT overrated. He is legit.

Im not worried about something 2 years away. These are 16 and 17 year olds. They flip flop every few hours depending on which girl likes em and dumps em.

A lot can happen. We might win a NC between now and then. Tamu might end up with a losing record becuase minus jff lobbing the ball to 7'5" evans, they turn back to a pumpkin that was a big 12 doormat.
Injuries happen. Sumlin might get another offer. Who knows.

I still think we end up getting him. Book it!

Kid is a legit stud, and hope OU can make ground over the next year (improbable).  Great pick up (both OT commits for 16') for A&M.
