NFL Combine

Is anyone up for posting updates on OU players at the NFL combine if you are keeping tabs on it?

Re: NFL Combine

Thanks for the link, retro; the player profiles, BC4L.  Forgot about Stacy and Wort even being invited.  It's always interesting but will be moreso this year with LJ1 falling and LJ2 rising to see how well they do.

Tom Wort

ILB Oklahoma

Photo of Tom Wort

Analysis

Strengths

Instinctive. Reads keys well, and times up his blitzes very well. Fast in short areas, closes well. Shows decent range. Aggressive player. Physical tackler. Looks comfortable in zone coverage. Gets proper depth on his drops.

Weaknesses
Lacks adequate size and bulk. Always banged up.  Doesn't have much length.  Gets locked onto blocks and struggles to disengage.  Lags behind in man coverage.  Doesn't have great tackling technique.

NFL Comparison Brad Jones

Bottom Line

Wort had a successful college career, but appears to lack the same tools to succeed in the NFL. He's a bit of a 'tweener in the NFL.  He will have to prove he can contribute on special teams in order to earn a roster spot.

If a guy already graduates, Wort for example, I see nothing wrong with that.

If you are talking about Jefferson, perhaps he's just ready move on. He wasn't going to get any taller or faster staying in Norman.

TJ actually projects as a 2nd or 3rd rounder (probably mid to bottom of the 3rd).  But yeah, Stills is currently projecting mid 4th or early 5th.

Appreciate the updates thus far.  Is it too much to ask for a pin with this just for the time being?
